I’m sure the problem is at my end. But I don’t know how to deal with it. My technological ignorance is legend.
I’ve been away for a week or two and any time I try to post from my computer at home there is a delay between typed time and appear on the screen time. Early today it was five six seconds after I complete typing the entire group of words (that was in Cafe Society and In my Humble Opinion). Here it is a fraction of a second after I depress the key.
The same problem occurred for me. I was running MSIE 5.00.01.somethingorother; when I changed ISPs, they courteously sent me an upgrade to MSIE 5.50.4522.1800IS.
Short threads don’t seem to be a problem – I’m typing this in the reply box, and it’s appearing just after the keystrokes.
But longer threads take up to 30 seconds to appear. The only workaround I know of (which has other advantages as well) is to compose in some other medium (Wordpad, MS Word) with proper coding included, being careful that no oddness is inserted (e.g., if inserting a link to a URL, I need to wait and put the quotes around the URL afterwards). Then Ctrl-A to select all, Ctrl-C to cut, swap over to dialog box in MSIE and paste it in, and click on “submit.”
