Ubiquitous! It's in there sommers - MMP

FCM, we’re all glad to know you have a clean bottom. <snerk>

Lissla, I’ll try not to fall in the monkey pit. Falling into the monkey pit is usually pretty low on the list of things I want to do. I’m glad you told us what afflatus means, because I would have thought it meant something completely different. Ereption <snerk> sounds like a naughty word!

My car’s red (not candy-apple red, more of a tomato red). With a big white streak down one side, so it’s easy to find in a big parking lot. I want candy apple red, too. It’s just the best color for cars.

I made a big pan of blondies with pecans and big white and dark chocolate chunks and cocoa nibs. The batter was so thick it broke my not-cheap spatula when I was mixing it all together, but it was worth it. Yum, yum! I’m trying to decide if I want to share them or freeze them so I can eat them all myself. I’m not a very nice person sometimes.

I had to work earlier today. It was busy but at least it’s double pay. They called me a little bit ago, the A/C doesn’t seem to be working as it’s only 78 degrees inside and “it’s hot”. The thermometer in my living room reads 92 motherfluffin’ degrees, I have no A/C at all, 78 would feel like heaven - I can’t work up any sympathy, besides there’s nothing that can be done tonight and there’s a second working A/C unit in the other half of the building.

I’ve been comtemplating baking myself a birfday cake for tomorrow, but firing up the oven will make it even hotter in here. Oh well, at least there’ll be cake.

Puggy, thank you for the compliment (::blushes:: ). Oh…and I found THAT word in the OP, but won’t give it away so that others still have a chance. All I can say is, it is in there sommers.

Lissla, yes it’s a word for a lung disease that miners get, but the way I heard it, it’s not the actual medical term. Can’t remember who made it up (press?). I just Googled it and didn’t get much back, just people talking about it being the longest word in the English language, no cites. Dictionary.com and Wikipedia don’t have anything on it either. Searched the board even. And my paper dictionary only has pneumoconiosis (which I think it’s an expansion of), which it states is: “A lung disease caused by inhalation of dust or small particles.” I hadn’t thought about this word in a long time, but I know I heard or read something about it recently. Now if I could just remember where. (Tried the local paper and NPR and got NOTHING!). This is going to bug me.

WileE, HAPPY BIRTHDAY in advance.

GT

Wile E, early Happy Birthday wishes to you. Another awesome Gemini!

We had a nasty wind storm last night. Everything was caked with a fine layer of sand this morning. I was on the board early, looking for bits and pieces of MMP. Then I went out and bought a car, which took about 4 hours. So I really should be moved up in the posting order (sniff sniff, not that it matters).

I had salmon on the barbie with grilled vegetables. Holiday greetings to all!

Happy birthday Wile E! I wanted to be first, but gt beat me to it. I didn’t know until just now, or I would have baked you a cake.

I need to go do dishes from my own little baking spree. I got distracted when I found a firefly on the sink, and I had to take it outside to let it go. I guess it thought I was dating material, because it crawled up my arm instead of flying away. I know what that blinking means, you flirty firefly! So now I have to do the dishes, no more distractions.

I had a quiet weekend - normal for me. Little boring. Gotta get out more.

Made brownies tonight - had one. Good for me!

Arrrrgggghhh!!! I found a baby mockingbird hiding behind the waste basket on my back porch this morning. I got a paper towel and moved it into an ornamental tree next to my front porch…just before we started getting torrential rain and funder and lightnin’! The parents are our resident set and I heard them callin’ for baby just before the rain started. Poor baby mockingbird. I hope it’s okay. :frowning:

wile e, HAPPY BIRFDAY!! I’m sure swampy will be here shortly to sing to ya.

I’m off work today…and I ain’t gonna do nuffin…well, except for walk three miles. Good thing the treadmill’s in the garage.

I have a sinus headache and singing loud did not help. OW!

Here I am at work
Figuring out what to do
I wanna go home!

Oh, we’re supposed to be looking for it? I found it, but only after I realized that we were supposed to be looking for it.

you bad person you! Stop trying to cheat!

Hey! I have a minnit here:

Firstly, and most importantly: Good job Puggy! I knew I could count on you!

You know what’s super-cool? Having the family over for a Memorial Day Cookout/ Birthday Party and right after the hot dogs are done, you run out of fuel for the grill. Half-warmed meat and then you finish them up on the stove. That’s the secret to good meat. Yeah!

The heat pump guys are hard at work. Now. They were late showing up. But I don’t blame them at all. They had this map to get them to my house. It was no help at all. Our ZIP code makes us sound like we’re in Middletown, but we’re so not there. So their map said “go to Middletown”. Wrong-o. Then it told them to run over 129. Only the map made 129 look like 120. 120 is no where near here. But they tried anyway. Also, 129 used to be called “Michael A. Fox Highway”, only Mike ain’t dead yet and there seems to be some rule you can’t name a road after a live guy. Their map still claimed 129 was called “Michael A. Fox Highway”.(You can’t name a street after a live guy except if that live guy is Pete Rose. Nothing went wrong after they re-named 3rd Street in Cincinnati after Pete Rose. Not counting him getting kicked out of baseball.) So they re-named 129, only I don’t know what it’s new name is. Soldiers’ Memorial Highway? Something like that. But they are here now with all the right stuff on their truck and they are hard at work.

You know what a totally faboo idea if you’re going to have heat pump guys over fixing your house? BUYING A PUPPY! So Saturday we went and picked us up a Cairn Terrier puppy! (It was all the Little Woman’s idea. Really.) His name (right now) is Brody MacDuff DeDay. He’s real cute. If you saw him, you’d want to keep him.

Now I have to go yell at Lucy since she’s barking her fool head off at the heat pump guys. They don’t need that grief while they’re working so hard.

So, Rue, we need to see pictures of this puppy! Or we might not believe it even exists. Maybe you’re making it all up, maybe not. Cute puppy pictures make me happy, and you want me to be happy, right?

Happy Birthday Wile E!!!

I’m not singing–nobody wants to hear that!

How’s the cake? Is it chocolate? Is there any other kind of cake? You need to get yourself an EasyBake oven, and then you won’t have to fire up the big oven when it’s hot, and you can still make nifty little cakes and stuff.

blushing Thanks, rue! Glad the guys are there doin’ the job. I wish I had another puppy, but Mr. Anachi would leave home if I brought another one in.

The rain has pretty much let up so I went out to check on baby mockingbird. He is still in the tree and doesn’t look too much the worse for wear after all the rain. I haven’t seen the parents over that way yet but I have heard them calling so maybe they’ll all hook up soon.

swampy, takes some drugs and head for home. Cause I said so. So there! :stuck_out_tongue:

Tupug (off in search of a twin bed for the grumpuses)

I didn’t do much outdoorsy this weekend. See, the beaches around here get CUHRAAAAAAAZY with billions of people. Locals, tourists, everybody and their brother. So we didn’t go there.

I watched a lot of DVDs this weekend, and finally saw Hitchhikers Guide. I also got to meet a Doper for dinner, and caught up on some sleep (not at the same time, of course). Remind me what I’m supposed to do here at work? It’s been so long, my brain has forgotten…

Ubiquitous has always been a favorite word of mine, even though I never use it. I remember something on Mad About You with it.

I drive a blue SUV. It has grey trim. And I do know some mechanical things about it, such as where to put the air for the tires. And I bought some funky smelling windshield washer fluid for our trip last week. I knew where to put that in too.

I was at the GF’s work party yesterday. She made manicotti for it. Even bakes the shells from scratch herself (says it’s just as fast as waiting for water to boil to cook frozen ones). At the party I had some kind of barbequed chicken, cream puffs, manicotti (of course), rigatoni, and of course beer.

Trying to decide what to cook to eat for the next six or so days. I’ll do most of the cooking tomorrow, unless we’re off to Ikea to get Attacks Things Husband’s present. Mr. lissar is in the kitchen making grilled cheese for breakfast. It’s his specialty. We eat a lot of grilled cheese.

Kingdom of Heaven was okay. Not great. Orlando Bloom is pretty. Jeremy Irons and Liam Neeson are awesome.

Shepherd’s pie, maybe chili. Chicken stew? Not sure.

Here I am! Here I am! I’m sorry I’m tardy. I forgot my note, will I still be excused?

I don’t have any big fancy-schmancy words for your edification today. I’m too lazy to think of any.

For the record I drive a dark green Explorer and the hubby drives a kind of teal blue F250. Did’ja all notice that a lot of MMPer’s seem to have green vehicles? My favorite color though, is red. A bright, shiny candy apple red, convertible would be a cool car for me. Heck, I’d even settle for an SUV that candy apple red, but that ain’t happenin’.

The weekend was very, very busy. Friday I cleaned the house, then entertained friends until late, and won 35 smackaroos playing 99. We had tons of good food, good drinks, and tons of fun.

Saturday we were up early, loaded the boat, headed to the lake and skiied and tubed. I’m sunburned, although I’m not really in pain. My kids are sunburned too. This is with sunscreen and repeated applications, at least for me. I know I saw the kids apply sunscreen on themselves about two or three times, but who knows how often they reapplied it. At any rate, I was plum tuckered out by Saturday evening so I just threw some sirlion burgers on the grill and called that dinner.

Sunday, although we had planned to go out on the boat, we bagged that idea. We were just a little worn out. I did make a very good dinner. I grilled two copper river salmon fillets and made tater salad.

Finally, yesterday we were out on the boat tubing and skiing again. We had a great time, but I’m very tired today. I came home, made baby back ribs and had leftover tater salad for dinner.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY WILE E!

Well, I must work now…I guess. I’m sure the boss would appreciate it.

Arrgh, what happened to my coding?

HAPPY, HAPPY BIRTHDAY WILE E!

I give up, I just can’t get it right today. You get the general idea, right Wile E?

Oh, and Tupug thanks so much for stepping in to get our weekly MMP going. It’s just not a good week without it. Ya done good girl!

I have a blue car. Can I still be part of the MMP?
