Damn. Peter Ueberroth quits California recall race
As I stated in this thread I was and am still against this recall, but if Davis is going out, then Ueberroth was head and shoulders above the other candidates.
I may vote for him anyway.
I liked Ueberroth too. I remember how he came in to help LA after the riots. Man–that was a horrible time, the riots. And I think he helped.
Since Riordan was out, I was hoping that Ueberroth might have a shot.
Damn.
Big boost for Arnold. Or at least a little boost since Uberroth was only polling at 5%. But the vast majority of those supporters will likely now support Schwartzenneger. That’s enough to put Arnold in a dead heat with Bustamante.
Ueberroth did the right thing.
Now let’s see what McClintock does…
This recall is lunacy. If 35-40% of us vote against it and the majority of that group vote for Bustamante, Bustamante wins easily. If you don’t like Grey, you’re really gonna hate Cruz. Talk about short sighted. The GOP’s only chance is to only have one viable candidate; two or more and Cruz is a shoe in.
I don’t think that Yes on Recall is a sure thing either. I think that vote will be very close. We’re talking Florida election close.
