That’s the part that kills me. If “The Government” is really willing to kill people who talk about this, then these guys have already said enough to seal their fate, but at the same time, haven’t said enough to actually change anyone’s mind on this issue. That’s like, literally the worst spot they could put themselves in. If this stuff is true, this playing coy act serves no useful purpose.

Not really, most government assassins are on the GS scale and so are salaried. The marginal cost is nearly zero; they’re being paid anyhow.
The hourly or piecework assassins are almost all private-sector employees or 1099 contractors.
You’re not factoring in travel expenses and material costs like bullets. I mean, you try to get government employees to stay at a Motel 6 and use knives, and see how well it works out.
