Oh, I hadn’t clicked that link. I must have somehow missed why that’s relevant to the current discussion. (plus, no, she doesn’t have even the slightest camel toe either, in my opinion)
Like, not even a full-on shot! Hello!
Yeesh, I’m (once more) glad I’m not a woman. Touching thighs? I had no idea that anyone would ever worry about such a thing. Untill standing up a few seconds ago I didn’t know if mine touched or not (they do). My wife is super hot and I’ve spent thousands of hours looking at her body and examining it in other ways, but I haven’t the slightest idea whether or not her thighs touch. Nor do I know if any of the women who I think are beautiful have touching or not touching thighs, and frankly I don’t care. Nor do any men I think.
(and no I won’t ask my wife if her thighs thouch when she gets home, apparently it might be something she already worries about.)
No matter what the body part there are tons of women worrying about it. I have noticed it in every group of women I’ve known, even the really beautiful ones. Evidently it is our nature.
I am very comfortable with my body and don’t have anything to hide and there are occasions when I feel fat or critical about myself. It doesn’t happen very often, and when it does I try to do something healthy like work out or eat some extra veggies. The feeling usually passes pretty quickly. The last thing I want is to be one of those women who looked good her whole life, but incessantly picked herself apart. I wish other women would let these insecurities go and relax about themselves.
What’s weird is, I didn’t really know if mine did or not until I checked. I knew the top part did, but after the first couple of inches, they don’t, but aren’t that far apart either. I’m neither thin nor fat, just average, and the only thing I remembered about "the gap"was the rude comments made by teenagers about that particular space. What I was marveling at, and railing against, is the idea that anyone thinks Marilyn Monroe, or anyone like her, has an unacceptable body, needs a diet, has thighs that touch, the horror!
There are plenty of fat people in the world if you want to go after people about that kind of stuff, for whatever reason. I feel like there’s some need to denigrate MM because she’s an icon of beauty, to feel superior to her. The problem is, by doing that, you’re denigrating a lot of people who are shaped like her. I don’t like it, even if I’m not shaped like her. She’s in the range of normal. End of story.
I’ll tell you what makes me want to bang my head against the wall is people who don’t know crap about nutrition preaching to others. If your trainer has you never eating more than 1200 calories a day and running for 50 minutes he is an idiot and I don’t care if he played football or not.
Oh, and your metabolism wouldn’t be crap if your diet didn’t suck. 500 calories by 1:00 and with only a “sensible dinner” left? Why don’t you take the total number of calories you need (hint > 1200) and divide it by 4 to 6 and eat that number of calories at each meal rather than getting more than 50% with your “sensible dinner?”
I am sad to say that yes, she probably already does. If not her thighs, then I’m sure she has some other perfectly normal feature that she obsesses about .
I may be very naive and excessively innocent, but look at her toes. Full-on shot of them cleft foots.
Jeez, the minds around here.

Jim, your optometrist called.
He said you’re fucking nuts.
They’re all perverts round here, I tell’s ya.
That girl has to be part camel - she has the toes and humps…probably spits too.
d&r’s
To each our own. She has never done anything for me. Not now and not when she was young. This doesn’t prevent her from being good in movies occasionally.
Jim
Heh, when you said she had a camel toe, who woudl’ve guessed you were talking about her feet?
Rubystreak, in my neighborhood growing up, a ‘gap’ had negative connotations also…often associated with slut-dom. Made me feel bad for one of my naturally slim friends, because she had a ‘gap’ and was certainly no slut.
I didn’t feel too bad though…she was bow-legged which interestingly enough was considered attractive at the time! Sigh. So it was only ok to have a gap if your knees bowed out. Kids make a lot of sense, don’t they?
:disclaimer:
After reading this thread again, I want to stress that I personally did not think girls were sluts or not, based on gaps or no gaps.
Furthermore, I have no problem with sluts. Provided that they are healthy, happy sluts, not depressed, desparate sluts. That is all.
If they touch when she gets home, they also touch when she’s away. Just in case you decide to approach the matter delicately, you should know that’s not the way to go.
So, you’re leaving the depressed, desparate sluts for us depressed, desparate guys? Thanks!
Any port in a storm, and all that…
And this is a sentiment that I think we can ALL get behind regardless of our thigh configuration.
My trainer has about 8 different certifications and 1200 calories is more than adequate for me to be able to work out 50 to 60 minutes a day (on intervals) and lose weight-see, because I’m hobbit sized. Simply because I know how to cook and eat well on such a caloric intake and have the physical fitness to work out doesn’t mean “I don’t know anything about nutrition”. It just means I’m in better physical shape than you, genius.
This is the other end of the spectrum…“move less eat more doesn’t work!!! You won’t lose weight! You need to eat 8000 calories a day and eat more than you burn to lose weight!”
Why do you think every country in Europe is in vastly better physical shape than most people in the US? It’s because they don’t EAT zillions of calories and then sit around sedentary…nor do they think “skipping meals” constitutes a proper diet.
