Ugh...WKRP in Cincinnati...KRP...KRAP

Herb trying to push his way under a bathroom stall while wearing the carp outfit was hilarious.

I never thought of KRAP and don’t believe it was meant that way.

There’s an AM radio station in Cincinnati with call sign WKRC (Wiki cite). The one time I was in Cinci (mid 1980s) I heard them use a variant of the WKRP call sign tune. I assume some legal arrangement was made for the use of the song. The Wiki page I linked to says that an Atlanta station was the inspiration for the sitcom, not Cincinnati’s WKRC, so the “W-KRAP” idea for the show may be correct.

Yep.

I used to date a lady that looked a lot like Loni Anderson though whenever anyone brought it up she would deny it. Then one evening at a friend’s house with several other couples the Ginger/ Mary Ann, Betty/Veronica, Jennifer/Bailey discussion came up and I said Bailey. I got the cold shoulder for about a week before one of the other men from the party informed me his wife told him my girlfriend was pissed I’d said Bailey that night.

By the way l must be a bit older then you. My first TV crush was Marsha, Marsha, Marsha.

Bailey, all the way! :o

My first crush was probably Joi Lansing, Superman’s “wife,” followed by Connie Hines on Mr Ed. She had the most delightful … figure!

I consider Bailey and Jennifer equally good choices. Both are hot, smart and fun. Never really had a real ‘thing’ for either of them.

Nowadays, I’d probably choose Bailey, if only because her look hasn’t dated as completely, so Jennifer would be a weird artifact, whereas Bailey would only have gotten a bit quirkier. >_>

My first TV crushes were Barbara (Valerie Bertinelli) from One Day at a Time, and Punky (Soleil Moon Frye) from Punky Brewster. Punky was age appropriate (Frye is about 5 months older than me), Barbara, not so much (Bertinelli is 17 years older).

I thought they were “… the KOME spot on your radio dial”

Yep, that was one of their tags along with “Wake up with KOME in your ear!” and “You’ve got KOME oozing out of your speakers!”

Knew it from the beginning. I worked at my college radio station, and we had names for other local stations where we’d ignore the W. Thus WRUC was “ruck” and WRPI was “rippy.” So I caught on to “crap,” in the first episode.
