HA. One of my friends on a deaf forum was all" this sounds fishy"… Guess I gotta tell her there was another faker (our forum seems to attract deaf fakers)
Diasabled person using technology to post online. Folks admiring their pluck and spirit - gets more attention. Some folks question the person’s veracity - person is announced as dead…then a hoax.
It certainly could be the same person, although I have a little trouble imagining her admitting she made it up. This persona was also different in some ways and is much older, and the “death” thing played out differently here. But yes, the internet is big and weird.
(er, the above post is to do with the reddit “troll”. I agree the troll the subject is about which somehow I missed on the first read is just bizarre. Not sure if they’ve caused harm or not but I would assume so given the sensitive subject matter)
I think the reporter on the Reddit interview was just getting his own internet fame by outing the guy. It’s ridiculous, if it’s an anonymous board the posters should stay that way. Yes, the guys stuff was sick but it’s like he said, if they don’t want to read it, they shouldn’t open it. If the administrators had a problem with it(which looks like they didn’t) they should have banned him. Kind of a jackass move of the reporter to ruin the guys real life. It most likely will hurt his chances of getting a job.
People are sure fucking stupid with some of the stuff they post online.
Yeah, they are. The guy did lose his job over it. I don’t know why he thought he wouldn’t. Actually, he didn’t think he wouldn’t; he told his boss about it as soon as it happened and bam, two days later, fired.
So…he did something anonymously he knew would have consequences if found out, which is why he did it anonymously. He has no reason to bitch about the consequences.
