I was thinking that also. Of course I think he saw Santos more as his mom’s sometimes boyfriend (who happened to be his biological father) than as a dad. Mainly though I think it was that if they showed him in any time of grieving process then it would spoil the spoiler (such as it was).
I really hope Marc Indelicato’s parents are steering him away from the Internet and other public venues. I haven’t even looked at them but I can only guess the things he’s being called everywhere (and he seems just as prissy in interviews as he does on the program).
You don’t think he knows? I mean, I know things are different now than they were in our childhood days, but I can’t imagine that there aren’t still kids in schools who pick most especially on the guy who sweats glitter…
One of my favorite Ugly Betty lines was Mark’s comment on his real surname [Weiner]: “An obviously gay kid whose name was Weiner? Even I wanted to kick my ass!”
Justin didn’t really feature in the episode too much, with what, about three minutes of screen time? Not really long enough for us to see the tearing of hair and rending of garments. Not that Justin would rend a garment anyway, unless it was a poly-blend.
We do see Justin coming home with a black eye one time. I don’t think he’s being teased for being gay or a “sissy” in that episode, though. I think he was defending his mom when kids called her a slut/whore. Nice kids.
But he has run away from school to Mode in the past. I do get the sense that he’s pretty unhappy at school, much as Marc says he used to be.
