Another show with a great freshman year. I’m eagerly anticipating the resolution to last season’s cliffhangers, including:
Will Daniel and Alexis survive the crash?
Is Amanda really Fay Summers’ daughter, and if so, will they really go the incest route and make Bradford the daddy?
Will Claire make good her escape?
Did Santos survive the shooting? (we never saw the body and if we don’t see the body he’s not dead, dammit!)
Will Henry and Betty be reunited?
Will Justin officially come out?
I was wondering that, too, but then, it’s TV science!
I missed the first few minutes. How was it that Alex was in a coma, but Daniel wasn’t? In last season’s finale, Daniel was passed out while Alexis was awaking, bemoaning the fact that it was her vindictiveness that had gotten them into the accident.
It’ll be nice to see if Henry and Betty finally do the wild monkey dance.
Nice seeing Ileana Douglas. But could they have done any more product placement for Vicky’s?
I was shaking my fist at the Santos injustice and yelling obscenities at the tv. I don’t like having hope and then having it ripped away! Which really, I should’ve known better. I mean, the ending of last season Hilda fell out on the floor at the news of Santos being shot. I imagine if he was hurt and not dead she wouldn’t have taken the time to fall out on the floor instead of rushing off to the ER. But still…bah.
Otherwise I giggled like an idiot when Amanda talked about the incest. Something to the effect of dirt you can’t wash away. Good episode.
I love adding Justin to Mode, but only for a couple of episodes. (Weekly, it would get old.)
I hope the Santos in Mexico beset by men seeking vengeance plot doesn’t take too long- to me it’s the least interesting (even though I love Santos). I hope they’ll bring back Octavia Spencer as his neurotic case-worker Constance- to quote Justin, I. Love. Her. (“Do me like Mariah!”)
Have you seen Christopher Gorham when he’s not dressed as Henry? He’s a doll! (Henry’s cute, but the actor’s cuter.
They need to ease off on the Mark-in-drag-and-referring-to-himself-in-the-feminine laughs for my part.
I saw where it was going with Santos (the fact that nobody else saw him and that Hilda would never have worn that wedding dress before the wedding and all) but also hated it, though keeping her single does have more possibilities.
Is it just me or does Eric Mabius look stupid? No idea if he is or isn’t, but he’s perfect casting as a spoiled rich incompetent (who’s basically a decent person).
Yoga adding Uma’s barbecue to her PDA was a great moment.
Is Ileanna Douglas going to be a regular? It seemed more like an introduction than a guest shot.
Incidentally, you have no idea how much I have to love a show to Tivo it rather than the season premiere of My Name is Earl. Greater compliments to televideo I cannot bestow.
It looks like she is going to be a semi-regular at “Mode”. G-d, I hope that they give her something great to do there. I love her.
If you haven’t seen it, you should check out Illeanarama. It’s a failed pilot that is a hysterically funny look at the celebrity culture and acting in L.A.
Si (o, in Ingles, “Nacho”).
I just realized I posted the wrong link under Christopher Gorham above. This is the correct one (edited too late- though the Fiddler on the Roof video is also quite good).
I remember in the finale, they’d crashed, Daniel was passed out, and Alexis was saying how this was all her fault because she had had Bradford’s car’s brakes cut. This does make for a better show now–Alexis forgetting that she’s Alexis and not Alex.
What would’ve made the ending even more poignant would’ve been for the paper with the wedding vows to be on the bed when Hildy’s realized he isn’t coming back. Then we’d know that those were really his thoughts, not her wishful thinking, and it would tie in the present reality with the dreams of a happier outcome.
Looking back, Santos’ death didn’t seem to have much of an emotional impact on Justin. I know Santos hadn’t been present for much of his life, but he’d seem to make up for that.
