UI problem with reporting bad post

I’ve noticed an annoying problem when reporting bad posts. After clicking the ! to report the post, we’re taken to a new page to type in a description of the problem. All fine and good, but I want to see a copy of the post I’m reporting. It’s irksome to have to flip back and forth to remember the specifics.

Can we have a copy of the reported post appear below the edit field? Similar to what we get when typing a reply.

P.S., I still wish we could report our own posts.

Unfortunately, we do not modify the board software. While technically this could be done, it won’t, because doing so would void the support agreement and create headaches while upgrading to newer versions.

I can understand your problem, 'coz while modding I usually have multiple windows open to post to and then I forget which was to be moved where or who gets which warning. Plus you should see the fun when another mod comes in and moves a thread or posts a warning while I’m trying to do the same

To report your own post, just report a post immediately above or below it and mention so in the report. Won’t work if you’re the OP with no replies though.

Any chance we can convince the board vendor to include this as a standard option?

You can always right click on the ! and you get the best of both worlds.

Alternatively, highlight and copy (right click > copy; or, control-c) the post into your ‘clipboard’ (temporary space in computer memory) then click on [!]. Then paste the post from the clipboard in the message box (right click > paste; or, control-v) to the admins. (Do them a favor and edit down to the salient point if it’s too long.)

Peace.

Yes, please, the more specific you can be in your REPORT BAD POST, the better and more helpful it is.
