Years ago I found an old book at a yard sale…it was a travel guide toEngland,probably from the 1910’s. Anyway, I remeber seeing a description of an establishment called “Dirty Dick’s”-this was an old pub, which (apparently) was never cleaned.
Is this place still around? And is it still…dirty?
According to this site, it’s still in operation at 202 Bishopsgate in London, and has been cleaned up considerably. If you google for it, you’ll get a few hits.
I haven’t been in it for weeks, but I can confirm it does exist at the location Purd Werfect says and that it’s no dirtier than lots of other establishments. I don’t recommend it, though. Dark, noisy and full of suits.
