My insensitive moron friends have already pointed out the pregnancy possibility to me, but I’m 99% sure I can’t be pregnant. A) I haven’t slept with him yet, and C) I’m on birth control. (And I know I don’t had to have slept with him to be pregnant, and I know birth control has a margin of error, but I’m quite sure it’s not that).

I think in this context a gimic poster would be someone who joins under a name to post as that persona, even though they are of course not that person. ('cause if that really was Bill, then he needs some time with a clue by 4.)
I don’t think it’s the first, I remember going through older stuff one day and finding a thread started by someone starting a pity thread for themselves, having joined as Ed Z0tti (note zero in place of o)

Silent Bob might be a “gimmick poster” because, like the character in Kevin Smith’s movies, he rarely says much beyond a smile icon. Bill Clinton (the poster) would fall into this category, too, if all of his posts concerned Monica Lewinsky and other presidential matters.
(not that I’m saying either one is just a gimmick, just that that’s what muppetsoup meant, I think)
And to answer muppetsoup’s question, there have been a few other gimmick posters. Santa, IHeartUncleBeer, Equus Mortus (or something like that) and I think even God have made appearances here, and they seem to fit that description.
