Ahem. I know where my priorities lie. Just check out my post-per-day average, compared to yours, missy.
Yes, but I feel like that every day, so today is no different.
I’m just hoping for tomorrow to be ‘casual day’ so I can wear jeans. (oh please, oh please)
sigh Why must our every discussion degenerate into this sort of name-calling and argumentative needling?
Oh. Right. 'Cause it’s fun.
#996 and counting, baby.
I got all my work done yesterday in anticipation of my holiday “I don’t feel like it” attitude. Desk was clean of paperwork. This morning? Way too many charts. My boss reminded me that healthcare doesn’t really recognize federal holidays. grumble Don’t WANT to.
My boss is gone, I’m way overdue for a holiday and I’ve just discovered KraftFoods.com.
Yeah, I’m so done here.
ohhh that is good. Actually he has to pass my office before he gets to hers. I will have to get up and wander in her office after I see him pass by and intentionally… ooops I mean accidentally over hear the conversation.
I’m being real productive at work today.
I already have downloaded fifteen new outfits and one cornucopia for my Sims.
2:13 and I am outta here folks. Ya’ll have a nice day!
Bastardo.
I bet you waited until post 3000 to rub it in our faces, too.
I actually did something productive…
Fueled by my desire for a casual day tomorrow, I started a rumor that it was, then asked one of the managers if it was, who in turn called the next manager up the food chain to ask if it was. That person then decided on the spot that it would be.
I’m quite popular with my co-workers at the moment.
I gotta remember this one, and use it again around Christmas!
I’m not coming in tomorrow, my current projects are all in test, we have a code freeze going, and I have almost* nothing to do. Damn straight I don’t want to do anything.
I’ve found a site with most of the dialogue from Buffy, and I’m reading various episodes to giggle at.
*and that’s because I’m digging around for something productive to spend the occasional minute on here and there.
I’m hopping a train tonight, to spend T’giving week at the Agatha Christie Assisted-Living Facility.
I’m gonna need a lot of valium to get through this week.
Eh, I gotta work tonight, tomorrow, and Thursday, and there’s no chance of sitting around looking busy. If last year is any indication, this whole week is going to be slam-ass crazy. The clinic owner is providing dinner with all the trimmings for Thursday, though, which is nice of him. (And by god, whoever stole the damn ham last year had better keep their grubby mitts off it this year.)
We’re working tomorrow and Friday as well, but it’s jeans day tomorrow. Woohoo! I was supposed to have Wednesday off, but I got sick two weeks ago and used up most of my remaining vacation time for the year. My birthday is Saturday, so at least I’ll have fun then. Movies, sushi, and perhaps a bit of foolin’ around with my hubby. He works most weekends because he manages a retail store, but he’s off this Saturday. Yay!
Y’know… I only just read and comprehended the thread title.
:smack:
Well, I actually went into work and got stuff done today. I was even there until 5:30.
But I took tomorrow off and don’t have to be back there until Monday morning. I do, however, have to be up at the butt-crack of dawn tomorrow to drive 90 minutes to the airport.
That’s very sweet of you but not necessary. I forget that around here if you mention having some problem someone is going to offer to help you out. I do have some food and I am not starving. I’m sure my mother will take pity on me and bring me a plate of food on Thursday while I’m working.
Don’t mind me, I was just having a little pity party and getting a jump start on my holiday scroogery.
Og bless us everyone!
Last year, we got off early on the Wednesday and got a paid day off Friday.
This year, we will be working until 5:00 tomorrow, and all day Friday.
However, I will bet the farm that the “big wigs” disappear tomorrow at about noon, and won’t be back until Monday. Thus, I will hang around, do some internet surfing and probably split about 3:00 (like they will know) and then I might not even show up Friday (again, who will know) and considering there is no mail on Friday, no clients, no meetings, no nothing, I will probably come in long enough to send emails to everyone in the office (let them know I was here) and then split.
The week of Thanksgiving traditionally plays host to various sports tournaments at high schools in this area. Today alone, my newspaper will cover eight boys basketball games, seven girls basketball games, two wrestling matches and four college basketball games. Tomorrow we get off easier, with about seven boys games. Thursday there’s nothing, Friday is about like today, but Saturday…Saturday we have three college games, a wrestling match, probably about six girls basketball games, and SIXTEEN boys basketball games. Yeah…not looking forward to this week at all…
I’m having an added problem to the usual pre-holiday boredom.
I recently found out that I’ve felt like crap for so long because I’m anemic. I started taking 9x the regular daily intake of iron and a multivitamin (on doctor’s orders).
Now, I’m so boiling over with energy that I’m getting 3 hours of sleep a night and I can’t sit still.
So, I have no work to do, customers calling me with really stupid questions or not at all, I sit in a pod of 4 so I can’t really play on the internet or read, and I feel like I just took some really good drugs. Tomorrow is going to be hell.
Oh, I’m also really happy and giddy and I think my coworkers are going to hurt me if I don’t stop laughing and babbling.
On the plus side, our wonderful department head said that tomorrow is dress down day - with no jeans allowed. So…I can wear my regular work clothes but with sneakers? We’re pretty casual as it is. Most of us wear dockers to work every day. He acts like he’s doing us a favor.
They’ll probably also let us go home early, which for us is about 4:30. We usually go home at 5:00.
But, I do have Thursday and Friday off, with pay so I do have something to be thankful for
