I have developed a fairly major problem, namely that I am now so addicted to the boards that I am on here until about 3 every night. This of course means that my morning classes are being ignored… not a good thing at all. I am at least lucky in that the class I have a test in this week starts in the afternoon; otherwise I’d never have made it.
So anyway, I’m wondering:[ul][li]Has anyone overcome this particular addiction (at least enough to remain functional)?[/li][li]If so, how?[/li][li]If not, can I get someone to yell at me for being on after 1am eastern time?[/li][/ul]
I appreciate the help…
Try setting up an alarm clock next to your computer (or set up some alarm clock software on your PC) and make an ironclad rule that after X minutes you will immediately leave the boards even if you’re in the middle of a post.
I have the same problem, Le Sang! Currently, I have my psychology textbook open in front of me, I’m studying for an exam that I’m no where NEAR ready for, and every page or so…I read a new thread. I just can’t get away from it! I need my fix! And I, too, will probably end up skipping tomorrow’s A.M. class.
Just don’t turn the computer on for a few days. It’s difficult… but after about three days, you are out of the loop of recent posts, and it is easier not to jump in.
A suggestion… by the way, what does your username mean? I took french, but… ?
