Really? You don’t think it’s threadshitting for someone to post in a thread for no other reason than to harass the OP, because they felt that the OP harassed them in the Pit? When they have literally nothing to say about the topic of the thread itself? Because if you can find a single phrase in any of Una’s posts in that thread that in any way address the topics of (a) why **Tuba **locked the previous thread or (b) whether moderators should be required to recuse themselves if they have a demonstrable interest in the discussion, I’d like to see it.

I just wanted to correct your assumption that, “Because it’s the Pit,” is an adequate response to the question, “Why are you being such a bitch?”

Of course it’s an adequate response. You just don’t like it because my behavior isn’t your behavior. When people say stupid things in the Pit, I’m allowed to point out that they’re stupid; and when I do so, you’re allowed to think I’m a terrible boor. Everybody wins!

As I pointed out in another thread, you can still be banned for trolling here in the Pit. Which puts to a lie your idea that this is the place where you are supposed to treat people poorly. That’s just a side effect of it’s real purpose–to let posters let off steam.

And the way I let off steam is by not keeping my mouth shut when I see people say stupid things. It’s not trolling–it’s just that I leave etiquette, politeness, and a general consideration for other people’s pwecious widdle feelings at the door when I come into this particular section of the boards. Because I *like *having one area where I can call a spade a spade, where I don’t have to smile and pretend that what someone just said *doesn’t *make me want to punch them in the teeth. (Well, okay, I can’t actually do that, because wishing bodily harm on others is against the rules–but I *can *call them out when they’re being fucking retarded.)
