And yet, we have people posting to this thread who insist that unless you spend every second of your day on Facebook, there’s no way you could possibly understand what’s going on.
I spend very little of my time on Facebook, and this was the first time I had seen that kind of pile on, and it was immediately recognizable as a kind of humour that could crop up in any context. The people who find it to be some kind of mystery that can only be unlocked by special knowledge aren’t inexperienced with the internet or Facebook; they’re inexperienced with humour.
Shhhhhhhhh, don’t say that! If you say that, you’re a big meanie poopy pants and it just means you’re trying to get attention.
To completely hijack, I read this as “Sodomy Fountain.” And then I laughed for a long time.
Or they are experienced with humour, which most if not all of those posts fail to qualify as.
Whether it’s good or bad humour is a matter of opinion. That it constitutes an attempt at humour is a fact and transparently so.
I love you for sharing this.
Aw, shucks.
/scuffs ground, looks modest
And now I’m laughing again, since I’d forgotten about this.
