Unarmed Man Shot by Deputies Inside His Own Car Outside His Own Home

How do you know that? I mean, besides the fact that you want to bend over backward to make sure that these poor, beleaguered cops don’t have :gasp: mean things said about them on the internet after shooting a man in his own yard?

Outside.

After dark.

On your own property.

But most importantly…

Don’t be black.

At any time.

Especially not in Florida.

Hey! I’ve got a white Gran Torino!

I agree; the OP seems to be little more than an attempt to cast the cops as “in the right” and the victim as having done something wrong.

Didn’t we already establish that the victim WAS wrong, because he was BWIF (Black, while in Florida)?

Really? In 2011 a total of 72 cops in the entire US were killed. I am curious how you would estimate what number of those died because they “delayed their response.”

How were they killed?

In my state the most common way for a cop to die in the line of duty is to have some idiot run him over with their car.

When cops fire 17 rounds, I have a tougher time believing they were firing because they had no time to evaluate and were in doubt.

Police are now claiming the 60-year-old man lunged at them, which is why they had to fire 17 rounds, hitting him in the leg once.

Gun-toting people who lack self-control are scary and need to be avoided.

Stupid sheriff.

Those were the ones “feloniously” killed and they mostly gunshots. The fbi put together a pie chart for the last 543 deaths.

The deputies were from Florida’s Escambia County so this part is true.

The have some explaining to do just as any officer involved in an on the job shooting does.

Allegedly… Not proven, but it is what they are being accused of.

Shot… well, he did end up with a bullet in his leg.

an Unarmed man… this turned out to be true.

For grabbing a box of cigarettes… sounds like he was only looking for one.

Out of his own car… it was his Mom’s.

Outside his own home… this is true.

So, is it that it was a single cigarette, or that it was his Mom’s car that is upsetting you?

Oh, and the witness is backing the guy who got shot.

I’m not saying that the case is open and shut… it needs to be investigated. But, this doesn’t seem to be an extreme exaggeration or distortion of what is alleged.

(bolding mine)

First of all… IANALEO and I ain’t ‘taking sides’, not yet anyway…
The first of the stories linked to claims that 7 shots were fired “according to LE officials”.
The differing story claims that the mans relatives came up with 17 shell casings! :dubious: I have trouble believing that. One would think that with 17 rounds fired at a range of less than 50’, at a stationary target no less, that only 1 round hit.
7 sounds a more believable number.
All of that aside, I see some glaring deficiencies in training, and thats from a civilian with no law enforcement training.

The plot thickens…

They Taser them.

This is Florida. Those could be anybody’s.

I don’t get a pie chart when I click on that link. Do I select the “job openings” link?

Deaf, naked and sopping wet stepping out of a bathtub. Of course they tasered him-nobody could find a plugged in radio to drop into the tub.
