I’m watching, I’m two episodes in. I’ll finish it, but, at least so far it’s not ‘the funniest show I’ve seen in a really long time’ that it was last year.
Maybe it should have been a miniseries. They could have stretched it out to, say, 20 episodes with no break and gone from the bunker to her being totally integrated back into society. This year (at least where I am now, two episodes in) seems to have changed from “Kimmy has no idea about real life and needs to be integrated back into society” to a similar storyline about Jackie. Looking back, I can see they were headed in that direction last year with her marriage falling apart.
Binged the whole thing yesterday (love that Netflix shows drop on my day off). I didn’t love it as much as the first season but I really liked it. And I liked it much more than most things I’ve seen. It’s been renewed for S3 and now I just have to wait 51.5 weeks. I can do it. Females are strong as hell.
I try to avoid binge-watching in general & limit myself to no more than 2 episodes at a time. The first 2 episodes we good, but not exactly up to last season. I did love Dong speaking English with a Kardashian accent.
I’m nine episodes in. Tina Fey is awesome as her new character.
I’m enjoying how they’re doubling down on various throwaway jokes, like how rich people love blimps, and how we see the occasional Yuko.
There’s something about the pacing of the humor on this show that I dig. They keep breezing past great one-liners (“Kanye West spectrum disorder”) like they’re all afterthoughts.
Gone through the first few episodes. Not as funny as the first season, but some great moments.
Please tell me I wasn’t the only one who laughed myself sick at the line “The Reverend was a psycho liar who claimed he came up with the ‘Buy the world a Coke today’ commercial”?
I’ll confess I do kind of like the idea that the show is a sequel to Mad Men and the Reverend is Don Draper.
Most of the way through the season. It’s pretty solid, though I’m not as wild about it as the first season. I like Jacqueline’s nemesis. Her particular brand of crazy is a good twist on the “bored trophy wife” character. Tina Fey’s psychiatrist is also a solid addition. She does a great job of portraying characters trying to maintain a veneer of professionalism over a deeply crazy core.
The things that everybody knows about the Kardashians etc. did they start off accurate and gradually get ridiculous or were they ridiculous from the beginning? I only noticed they were completely absurd after about the 3rd or 4th.
About 10 episodes in, and really enjoying it also. Really really love Tina Fey’s character.
I feel like this season started slower but built up steam quickly. Also it has a lot more blink and you miss it jokes and probably rewards re-watching the way that Arrested Development does/did.
Watching. . . and disappointed so far in season 2. Don’t know what it is. It’s just not a funny as it was. . . I think maybe not enough Kimmie adjustment stuff.
