Unexpected Goodness

What unexpected nice things have happened to you recently?

A couple of days ago I ordered a beautiful opal and peridot ring from a little shop in England for My Beloved’s birthday, and was notified that it would arrive around the 10th of September(overseas shipping being what it currently is, I expected it to actually arrive a week later than that). Fed-Ex just knocked on the door and delivered a package containing said ring, and it was even better than we expected, beautifully and safely wrapped.

Great, Czarcasm ! After nearly a century of existence I learned a new word, peridot. And it’s a beautiful gem.

Today, after the hurricane weather yesterday,
I woke up to sunshine in my windows and the whole house still asleep.
I didn’t dare move. Afraid to break the spell. I just laid there and enjoyed.
Above me, on the headboard laid 2 cats. I heard faint purring in unison.

Magical.

I love peridot gems, as well, @Czarcasm.

Somebody besides me wants to hear happy things regardless of apparent import that happen in people’s lives.

Thanks Czarcasm

And Peridot is da bomba of gem stones in my book

The charging cable to the laptop I need to use when I start teaching remotely tomorrow developed a short. I taped it up to try to keep it working, but I had to keep tweaking it.

Ordered a new one Friday from Amazon Prime for $7.99, because the generic ones at Best Buy are like, $50. Supposed to be here tomorrow, which is really unfortunate, because there’s no way it would get here before first session. So I charged up my small laptop just in case (my middle one, is the one that’s been acting funny, and which until recently, was my workhorse). But the big one is the one I want to use for class anyway.

So, the cable came early, today, about 3pm. I dispensed with Shabbat proscriptions to test it out, and it worked perfectly. It’s shorter (length) than the other one, but that doesn’t really matter. I’m good to go tomorrow. Just ran through my lesson, and I’m coming right in on time.

I am so ready for online class tomorrow.

I’m psyched.

I’ve always been a popular teacher, and I intend to stay one.

I just found thirty dollars in loose bills that I scraped out of my purse. If I’m in a hurry, I don’t always put singles away in my wallet. But I must’ve broke a twenty in a couple of places, because there were a couple of crumpled tens that I forgot about.

This is a joy that will disappear as we become a cashless society.

Very mundane for most people, but I check allmusic.com every Friday for the new releases, and this weekend showed me that one of my favorite bands of all time, Motorpsycho, had a new double album, The All Is One. So I went to deezer.com to listen, and now I’m at the third listen and it’s once more a fantastic album by my favorite Norwegian rock gods. Made my weekend.
