There’s an old cemetery near where my parents live in suburban Atlanta (once attached to a former Primitive Baptist church) with a grave for a woman whose first name was “Armadillo”.
My favorite is Amanda Miranda Panda, who achieved worldwide fame after her arrest in 2014. I imagine that years of teasing drove her to a life of crime.
I went to grade school with Rusty Dick.
There are at least two mathematicians named Dikshit (google “mathematician Dikshit” to see this). There was an Indian Ambassador to the US named Dixit and I often wondered if that was an alternate transliteration of what was the same name in Hindi or some other Indian language. Especially as that same google turned up an economist named Dixit.
Not all that long ago, I became aware of a town in Idaho called Dickshooter. It was named after a pioneer settler named Dick Shooter. Not someone you’d want to go up against in a gunfight.
I know I’ve posted this in threads like these here before, but, yes, Dikshit and Dixit are exactly the same name.
As a young lad, he would have been Master Bate.
Just saw that a friend of a FB friend is named ShyAnn - I’m guessing either her parents couldn’t spell Cheyenne or she’s just being cutesy. Considering the part of the country, I’m going with couldn’t spell.

I knew a girl in college whose last name was Slutsky.
There was a GYN at my university’s health center named Dr. Dripps.
I know I have mentioned him before but one of my friends is Richard (Ricky) Dick and I knew a Crazy Joe Love when he was a Group Commander. At least I didn’t feel as bad saying hello to Colonel Love as I would have when he was a Major.
Was she from Russia? Slutsky is a fairly common Russian surname.

From years of working for a printer of business cards, the two names that stick in my memory yet today are Dorcas Moo and Parlie Gates. I looked to see if I already posted these, and apparently I did. Who can remember which zombies they already posted in?
Thirty years ago, in the Smithsonian magazine, there was an article talking about the 100th anniversary of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s first Sherlock Holmes story. One man pictured in the article was actually named Sherlock Holmes. His mother was a fan of the stories. Guy said he figured he’d either have to learn to deal with it, or hate his name.
