Unidentified mass in my lung. Sick.

Saw this thread for the first time today.

Sending you best wishes and lots of good luck from up here in the semi-frozen north.

Today, my Mother got Life Flighted to Saint Thomas Cardiac.

This is too much. Dad & I are going nuts.

Good grief, Bosda!

I’m sending along more good thoughts. Keep us posted on both of you.

Oh, no! I’m sending warm and healing thoughts to you and your mother. Tell your dad he really needs to take care of himself right now. Best wishes and good luck to all.

Mom’s problem is an infection in the sac around the heart.

She may be able to come home tomorrow.

Good prognosis, but I’m shaking.

Good grief, Bosda. I hope your mother is OK. I hope your lung is OK. Take care of yourself through this awful, stressful period. Our thoughts are with you.

 Wow, you sure are getting a rough road. Good luck tomorrow for both you and your mom

I’ve been following this thread, although it’s the first time I’m posting to it. I’m so sorry to hear about both you and your mom. You’re both in my thought and here’s hoping everything is smooth sailing again soon!

Hoping for speedy recoveries for both you and your Mom.

Absotively! My Dad has had 3 heart attacks, and the second one (over 20 years ago, now!) was so big the doctors at the hospital had no idea how he survived it–they’d never seen anyone live after a coronary that large. It killed off half the tissue in his heart (I think that’s what my Mom said). They’ve retired to AZ, and he bowls and plays shuffleboard almost every day. He’s a tough, stubborn, old buzzard, and I am fiercely proud of him. You hang in there–there are lots and lots of us pulling for you!

Bosda, how did your appointment go this morning? Any news?

NEWS
Mom is alive, & by any reasonable standards is gonna be OK.

Might not be an infection, may be organic damage, but Saint Thomas’s is the best cardiac facility in the South. She is on many meds, & feeling much better. Sitting up, & eating, too.

They may have to do an angioplasty, or not.

As for me, it was a great suprise!

It isn’t a tumor at all!

It’s an abcess! I’m on antibiotics, & should be fine.

It’s been a rough haul for all the Di’Chis, but there’s light at the end of the tunnel.

Excellent news! (for you at least, yet your mom sounds like she’s in good hands and not in dire straights either). I am happy for this diagnosis. Thanks for the update. And thanks for sharing your ongoing story.

As a personal aside, it seems that everytime I start to get depressed about life and its minor irritations, all I have to do is head to the SDMB and find a story about someone who has a real reason to be concerned and worried. The SDMB extends my horizons and is inclusive of people and situations that I wouldn’t otherwise know about. It adds perspective. [/aside]

Hooray!!!

Glad all those good wishes sent your way had the desired effect!

Excellent news! I’m relieved to hear it.

Yay! Glad it wasn’t too serious Bosda! And your mom will be very well taken care of at St. Thomas. That’s where my grandmother had her valve replaced eons ago.

Good deal, Bosda. I’m very glad to hear it!

Yay! Continued good health to both of you!

Bosda,

Whew! What a relief. It doesn’t get any better than that!

Your news is actually the best thing that has happened to me all day. I can only imagine what it must be like for you!
