Nice doper ladies
kindly reaching out to me
let us all be healed
Ah cheers, mate. You’re not bad for a Howard-supporter yourself. Anyway, non-US conservatism is a lot closer to us moderates anyway, so there’s not quite such a leap to be able to see each others’ viewpoints.
Just lucky I guess. What can I say? I’m good with a headline…
Despite being on the opposite end of the political and legal spectrum as Bricker, I really like his piercing analysis on issues and the way he can clearly explain clouded legal points. It really makes me sit back and think about my own stance.
Hey, Bricker, do you like science fiction (movies, books, etc)? Ever read up on anthropology?
Ok, so Ringo dragged (drug?) me over here, kicking and screaming. I guess it was that Texas charm what done it.
But if this is the kind of togetherness being (sold) by President Bush, I’ll remain dubious. Very dubious. :dubious:
Peace,
mangeorge
I can feel the love in this thread! Are you feelin’ it? I’m feelin’ it! Yeah, baby!
But I wanted duffer. I never get the republican I want.
You, Sir, are an Og in my eyes. I bow to your supreme genius.
::::::kowtowing backwards out of the thread::::::::::::::::
My first pick is Bumbazine, and my second is Kallessa. Both are Oregon liberals, to my Virginia conservative. Left coast vs. right…
’zine, however, is a fellow model railroader, which will almost negate his political leanings.
Kalley… well, I can out-pun her with half my brain tied behind my back.
I’d like to submit my papers to adopt Dewey Cheatem Undhow. He has left me infuriated at times, but I don’t think I’ve read a post of his where I didn’t learn something.
Right back atcha Bob.
However, I feel a bit of clarification is in order here. I’m more of a Tom McCall Conservative. i.e. I’m pretty moderate and could almost be an old style Re-Pubby-Con except that I think the party has been hijacked by a bunch of raving loons lately.
My basic political philosophy is that I want the gummint to protect me from murderers and thieves and otherwise leave me the Hell alone. The problem is in how I define ‘murderers and thieves’.
BTW Bob, the mountain is still pink, but it’s about to grow rocks.
Now that I’m here, I suppose I should think about adopting a Christian.
And maybe a smart person.
Oops. :smack: I didn’t mean to imply that I thought VunderBob wasn’t smart, it’s just that my foot fits into my mouth so well, you see.
Well, I guess it wouldn’t work, because while I claim conservative, I also claim libertarian with a small case ‘l’. You might be able to get me on the Christian part, because I go on a semi-regular basis, but I don’t fit the definitions used by Phred Phelps or Jack Chick.
I will also adopt Bricker. I look forward to reading his posts in any of the legal questions threads.
Libertarian = a liberal who can’t stand being called names.
Xjetgirlx and I most certainly hold very different political views. But I still consider her a smart person and a friend. I’m pleased to have had my pansy-assed liberal circle of friends widened by alternative views
I’m adopting manhattan, because, well, he’s my friend, and he happens to be a Republican (I’m an independent liberal). He’s kind of an uptight New Yorker and I’m a laid back Californian, but he’s really fun and extremely generous. He knows all about finance stuff, which is good because I’m taking an economics class right now and sometimes he explains things to me when I am confused. So maybe we could use that as a basis for our discussion, because I know it’s not their social agenda that prompts him to vote Republican.
Does that mean I hafta go back to being an orphan? sniff
I’ll try to be more contrary if you will.
See! They call us names. WE even call us names.
I’d adopt Ringo, but some might see that as somehow incestuous. Seeing as how he (she?) already adopted me.
