Maybe they went to go buy it? I want to, but I need a job first. <whines> I want this sims expansion almost as much as a means of gainful employment! </whines> Oh well, I’ll have to hear about how great it is while I continue my job search…

I thought this was about the Swedish band Unleashed who released the oh-so-forgettable disks Eastern Blood - Hail to Poland and Live in Vienna '93.
NP: Sentenced - The Cold White Light
My first thought (although I knew it wasn’t what the thread would be about) was of a live album recorded at Greune Hall (I think I spelled that wrong) by Texas alt-country singer/songwriters Bruce Robison, Charlie Robison and Jack Ingram.
I love that CD.
I’m assuming it’s about the expansion pack for the computer game The Sims. Among other things, it adds pets – including the hamsters which apparently got away and ate the original post.
And nobody asked me, but I think it’s an excellent expansion pack. The music in every one of these packs has been great, and there’s something especially cool about hearing Zydeco in Simlish. The pets are the main draw, but they did a lot to expand the neighborhood maps and incorporate them with community areas alongside the residential lots. (The new community areas have a French Quarter theme, which is why you hear the zydeco.)
But I could do without the raccoons waking up my sims in the middle of the night.
Do the pets carry along if your sims go to other neighborhoods? For instance, can my neighborhood serial killer take a cute puppy on walks through downtown to more quickly befriend Townies and lead them to their starvation and drowning dooms back at his murderpad?
Of course! The new ad for the game emphasizes what the people really want: pets are chick magnets. You can take your pet to the “Old Town” areas to have them trained or use them as conversation starters with unsuspecting sims. Plus, they seem to have made “cat people” and “dog people,” so one of your conversation options is always to talk “about dogs” or “about cats”. Supposedly, you can also sic your pet onto people or animals you don’t like (haven’t tried that yet myself) – in your case, any cops sniffing around.
Hmm. Well, it would be a shame if the sluggish economy hurt Maxis more than it has, so I must do my part.

I just finished a big update of my sims site, so it now includes some Unleashed/Vacation stuff…and more X-files stuff (for anyone with LL) of course 
The pets are VERY cute…and I’m spending far too much time playing this game.
I was disappointed in the breeding of the animals…I wanted to see baby kittens and puppies!

Thanks Jorel! This is the first update I’ve done in about a year, so still need up update the cheats page and the Stupid FAQ to reflect changes made since Hot Date, Vacation and Unleashed were released. The FAQ starts off explaining how maxis repeatedly said that there would never be pets in the game. Bunch o’ liars…not that I mind much 
Bring on the toddler-preschoolers, teens and the elderly in that case, Maxis!
