Of course I had to post this!
Congrats to Uno, the first beagle to ever win BIS at Westminster!

I’ve actually been posting in the Westminster thread, but I’ll post here to say in my completely amateur opinion it was a good win by the beagle based mostly on the fact that he is a good looking dog with a charming personality. I’ll confess that I don’t know anything at all about the beagle breed standards.
(And hey, if it couldn’t be a corgi…)
Nelly K. Beagle is pleased.
I’m glad a hound won! Of course, the Dachshunds were robbed.
This is no way a knock, if I happen to describe someone here, but in my experience, beagle owners, more than any other breed enthusiasts, also tend have the most extensive collection of paraphanelia/pictures/statues depicting their breed around the house, with Scotties maybe a close 2nd. You rarely see this with Shi-Tsus or Ayredales or pugs. But beagles… why beagles?
I’m glad a beagle won - even tho I’m a golden retriever owner!
Every time I see a dog show the beagles always look so perfect, and they’re all always cute. This little guy Uno is a real beauty
My sister’s vet school raises beagles… I guess as “practise” animals for the students. When they are 5, the dogs are given away for free, already spayed, vaccinated, and knowing whatever tricks 5 years of university kids happen to have taught them.
My sister wants my mom to take 2 of them. My mom wants to take at least one of them. My dad… says no. At least for now.
I sent her a link to a newspaper article about it… perhaps it will be extra motivation! hehehe
I hear the Poodle Defense League is planning a protest march and possibly an assassination attempt.
Buddy the Beagle is very pleased. He plans on celebrating just as soon as his nap is done and dinner is served.
The Wonder Beagle is mightily pleased, as you can see. If he weren’t so busy training for his own sport (competitive napping), he would do the happy dance.
We have no beagle paraphernalia/pictures/statues around the house, unless you count fur and dog toys.
My tricolored overlords Quincy and Nordberg are happy with the results .
Nordberg yawns .
As to why beagle folks are different…I dunno. I’ve had German Shepherds too, but beagles have personality. They’re just different, and it’s hard to really put a finger on it.
I always feel sorry for those animals. are there any better alternatives for practising vet students?
Sophie couldn’t be more thrilled. She thinks we should celebrate with a snack. Or two.
I don’t know about you guys, but Quincy absolutely bonkers for Costco chicken jerky and “log”. “Log” is more commonly known as "Natural Balance pet food roll ".
Y’all have some seriously cute beagles!
Like I said, beagles have a black belt in everything cute. Spend some time with one or two and be prepared to fall in love.
She’s gorgeous!
That’s one seriously lovely sweet hunk of doggy.
The doggies on this thread are really cute, too.
Our family had a beagle. Her name was Princess Juliet of Midvale. Best dog I ever knew.
