In your opinion are there any untrustworthy dopers out there in straightdope land? If so, why?
Yes, there are one or two, as I learned to my chagrin. More than that I das’t not say.

Of course there are. We’re a bunch of actual human beings. Some trustworthy, some not. There are liars and gossips and scoundrels just like everywhere else.
I don’t know how you’d ever have to put “trust” in anybody on this message board. They don’t have your personal information, you aren’t investing with them, you can’t really get “burned” by them in any sense. Since you aren’t trusting anything to them, I don’t even know how you’d find out someone was or wasn’t trustworthy, nor how this would affect you at all.
Anyway, allow me to suggest that if anyone responds to the OP they keep particular names out of it, I can just see this thread blowing up quick. I ain’t a mod or even a long-time poster, it ain’t my responsibility, I’m just sayin’.
Meatros, do you really think people will name names for heavens’ sake? Because if you’re trying to get people to, you’re just stirring for trouble.
In my opinion, a thread of this type can only serve to stir up dissent, suspicion and bad feelings. If you have a specific complaint about a specific poster, we’ll talk. Until then, this thread is closed.
Hmmm…I don’t mean that level of trust RexDart. I mean is there a doper out there who you question all the information they give you? What was the extent of the misinformation that they gave you?
