My phone went for a dip in the terlit, dammit. It fell out of my back pocket right into the bowl instead of on the floor where it usually falls. Dammit. I pulled it out right away, took off the case and the back. There was no water inside the phone, but I expect some got in thru the speaker, because that’s not working. Dammit. Everything else seems to be OK. It makes and receives calls and I could hear my voicemail, so that’s working. But I no longer get the tones when I dial, nor can I hear sound if I bring up videos. And the touch feedback isn’t working. Dammit.
There’s a store down near where I used to work that supposedly has the same model in stock, so I’m going to run down there tomorrow. It’s not expensive - just $39 - so I’ll just swap out the SIM card.
Just remember to be nice, FCM (dammit). And the windows look marvelous.
red, I got a Nikon Coolpix, about $250, since I use it only on vacation and maybe 2-3 other times a year, it suits my needs better than a smart phone (I’ll get around to joining the 21st century one of these days…).
hippie, you got a FB friend request from me (David H.).
shoe, sounds like both you and the ratties had (or will have) a good time gnawing…
The rain showed up at 4pm, just enough for the Parks to close down, so no soccer practice today. Shooting for Thursday, Wednesday is/was ‘church night’ so most folks don’t practice then. We’ll see. At least I got through the day without nappage so I should sleep well tonight.
Sorted. Had to deal with a cart full of missorts. Apprently I’m the only one who can fix them in the hub. And I had the cart with the jammed wheel, so it would only turn right, like some sort of Mirror Universe stock car. I napped a lot after work.
My favorite is dropping my new iPhone screen down on concrete before I had a case on it (because I had to drive to a funeral 200 miles away and didn’t have time to find a case and put it on).
It sure is and I could use more time between the ‘things’.
Thanks. I never thought of looking there. Gives me my next binge
Don’t bother. The 21st century is overrated.
provisionally, good night all. Sweet dreams and lots of ‘em.
Speaking of buying stuff … brand-new toothbrushes feel AWESOME! I kinda wanna go brush my teeth again.
Decided I really reeeeeally wanted chicken soup, and I wanted it tonight (stomps feet). Enter: Instant Pot.
Soup is already in my tummy, my fridge, and my freezer. Yums.
Sometimes it just takes fresh eyes on a problem even if the are on the other side of the country and atop a body not enjoying diverticulitis treatments.
(And why does the eyes emoji look like bad fried eggs?)
The universe is pissed off that you saved some bucks on the doors. I know it’s not supposed to work that way, but I’ve done enough home repairs to believe inanimate objects understand “spite.”
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 76 Amurrkin out and partly cloudy with a predicted high of 95 and mostly N.O.S. for the day. OYKW will head over to the Pubic Sto’ this mornin’ to purchase needed provisions. I went to Sam’s yestiddy to gas up twuck and to get a few items. I also went to Big Lots cause they have Poopsi products on sale. I think I shall commence mowage this mornin’. Or not. I’ll see how motivated I am after the caffeine kicks in, Sup shall be boxed lasagna (don’t judge!), sallit, and cheesey garlic bread.
Now I need more caffeine and rumbly tummy wants sustenance, Then, onward into the day! Rah,
My right index fingertip is soooooooo sore this morning!! I must have had a death grip on the razor I was using to clear the windows. But it was soooooooo nice to be able to look out that window this morning!
And my phone seems to have recovered overnight - all the tones are working correctly, so no need to buy a replacement. Huzzah!!
After I finish shoveling breakfast into my face, I’m going to walk, then I’ll head to Food Lion to get some edible substances. Once I get back, SIL will be heading down to their house to start unpacking and stuff, so I’ll be Roxy wrangling.
Pulled some poke chops out of the freezer for supper. And so begins the day.
Up, supervising the kitties for their morning constitutional outdoors. (Yes, Monkey, the grass IS wet. No, Monkey, I can’t dry everything off.)
Which reminds me, laptop/pics was one of the only things I did not get to yesterday. I don’t know why I have such a mental block in place - I have hundreds of pictures to share!
I just wanna be able to do it from my phone.
Super glad I made that chicken soup last night, but … ugh, seeing that giant stockpot waiting to be cleaned gives me the blurfs.
Cloudy, rainy, wet, and humid this morning. 72 degrees now, supposed it get up to 86.
Took the dogs to the park this morning, and then took them to daycare. They were hyper all day yesterday and I need a break. Even after 2 and a half hours at the park, Echo was still hyper excited when I pulled into the daycare lot. I hope her ass gets worn out today.
Not a whole lot on the agenda today. Trying to get some stuff done, but the last few days have been filled with naps and sloth.
I watch a lot of youtube, it’s what I do between irk calls. There is so much stuff out there, I seldom get bored.
Adam must miss the dogs, he is bugging the hell out of me this morning.
Morning all. Don’t have soccer practice scheduled today, so of course it’s clear and only a 15% chance of rain…I can’t win…
Have actually eaten a healthy breakfast (Carnation Instant B’Fast and a banana) and need to make a braunsweiger run up to the Northeast part of the county shortly. It’s also newspaper day which means Sudoku’s and Jumbles to figure out, so life should proceed well.
Just as I was about to walk, it started raining. So I went to Food Lion and walked the aisles there. Probably not 3 miles, tho. Then I took Roxy down to her house and I cleaned up a little for my daughter and brought home a bag of trash and recycling. We had lunch, and shortly, she’ll have her nap.
I know the trick of the white rice. But it seems to have dried out on its own overnight. Like I said, it didn’t get too wet, and I disassembled and dried it immediately. I may just buy a backup phone anyway, tho I don’t intend to put it in my back pocket ever again.
Higgs goes to the groomer for a 5PM appointment. That should mess up suppertime really well. Speaking of which, I’ve got the poke chops soaking in teriyaki. I’ll steam some rice and make broccoli for the sides. Maybe green beans, too.
Howdy Y’all! OYKW accomplished layin’ in provisions from the Pubic Sto’ and I accomplished mowage. Go Us! I have showered and ingested some ham, cheese, and crackers for N.O.L. A gnawin’ and a cravin’ for pizza ahd wings has overtaken somebody so instead of boxed lasagna that shall be sup. We’ll still have sallit to make it all healthy,
My daughter is hanging out in a box on the floor next to my desk. Funny how kids like boxes so much - even when they’re tweens and teens. Is it a nesting instinct? Creativity? Whatever it is, it’s entertaining to both of us.
Anyway, the brain is a shade less foggy today thanks to an hour’s extra sleep last night. I also slept like a rock thanks to the running. The pain in my joints keeps me awake at night unless I run every day or every other day. I’ve avoided talking to the doctor about it because both mom and dad have arthritis, so I figure that my time has probably come as well. Darned body. If I don’t exercise, pain. If I eat garbage, serious GI distress and brain fog. Limited sleep? Nausea and brain fog. The thing I miss about my 20s the most is being able to treat my body like crap, consequence-free. Why did I not appreciate that more when I was younger? And what am I not appreciating now that I’ll wish I had?
