What I adore about Mr Keown is how he actually devolves on the pitch before your very eyes…
I’ve seen him sit interviews, and he’s got a lovely speaking voice, well-spoken, and actually appears to be human – but once he’s on the pitch, crikey! I swear once I saw gills! He just seems to go from this ordinary bloke you wouldn’t look twice at to a slavering, screaming maniac who’d gladly reach into the stands and grabs nuns & kittens and use them to beat away any opponents. It’s great.
Sort of like that whole juxtaposition between Mr Parlour looking like Christopher Robin and acting like…well, hmmm…Christopher Robin at the wrong time of the month, I suppose…
