Up, Up and Away in the MMP

Morning all. Made it to 7:30am before rising and (sorta) shining, have broken fast with a big bowl of Rice Krispies and have broken down the box my new chair came it and put the pieces in the recycle bin, so I have actually done something responsible this morning. Already 82F heading to 90F today and about a 1-in-4 chance of rain, so activity will be of the limited sort.

boo fae, enjoy your trip. Belgium is a place I have not visited yet, need to do Brussles and Antwerp one of these days…

swampy, happy laundry day!

FCM, I hardly watch any TV anymore, and never was much for crime dramas anyway. And thanks for the reminder of the extended family, I have only one brother and sometimes that is quite enough…and hope you can make the trip (even if it’s a drive-by) back to the College, there are some memories there…

Coppertone, you gets the good with the bad. No mooning the pedestrians, though…

rocky, so yoou screwed the front desk crew? Jest aside, it was a good thing you did.

Flyboy, fraud is a PITA, but at least your company was right on it and got it dealt with. And good idea to let the sole vendor know, my cards like most folks go to dozens of places so I can’t do that.

Knots, I don’t know what your drinking, but I’ll have what your having…

And that all for the morning missive. Have a good 2sDay all.

Good morning, all! It was 74ºF with a nice, sticky dew point of 70º. It seemed a little darker than usual this morning, but we’ve passed the Dog Days, and the days are getting shorter quicker. We saw all the joggers this morning. We saw no buns, one cat, and the world’s fattest squirrel - it put the ones I saw in Philly to shame. Chloé wanted to make the cat her new best friend. The cat was like, “Come at me, sis. Let me know how that works out for you.”

Last week, someone had suggested twice baked potatoes. Thank you for the suggestion. I was able to get the first bake done while I was at yoga, fixed up the filling when I got home, and did the second bake while I was in the shower. Mrs Magill was at PFLAG last night, so I put hers in the fridge and baked it while she drove home, so she had a hot dinner waiting for her.

The bird feeder and hummingbird feeder are full and ready for business.

I see the endocrinologist in two weeks. This ain’t no baby step, but I’ve got this.

You may change your mind after doggio reads some of his poetry.

I always read this as “St. Pancreas” and wonder if it gets as much glory as St Liver.

And that can make a world of difference in mood and outlook.

Sounds like a Napoleon XIV song.

Happy Tuesday!

Up, caffeinating, breakfasted, infused and fixing to do KP. I go see the infectious disease doctor this afternoon and will likely swing through Aldi or Kroger for a couple of things on the way home.

Stay safe and healthy y’all!

Good morning.

It’s 60F and cloudy. Today’s forecast is much like yesterday’s: morning clouds, afternoon sun, and a high of 82F. There is no rain in sight for the entire month, so that’s worrisome.

Nellie, I’m so glad your daughter found a job that’ll pay the bills until she can find something in her field. That is wonderful news, and I know it weighed heavily on both your minds.

JtC, I hope the PA visit goes well, and you get to remove the sling. It sounds like you’re healing right on schedule, even if it’s slower than you want. I know, I know, I’d be very impatient
too.

I need to run some errands today, and that’s probably all that is on today’s schedule, along with the usual posey care. I need to feed the flowers in the back.

Alrighty, time to go. Please take care of yourselves.

Fingers crossed that you get good answers.

We are getting ready to head to Charleston, I didn’t get my white pizza after surgery (they weren’t open) so we will have lunch before my doctor visit.

We just had a nice long rain that dropped .37 inches of water. According to the weather, we will be under flood watch for four days. All of our appointments are local and only one building is on the other side of a river so we should be OK.

Our hummers are becoming fewer, the feeders are lasting longer and the evening mob scenes aren’t as intense. I will miss them when they are gone.

The corn is still in the fence. I’ve seen cardinals going at them so I can’t take them down. We haven’t seen any deer since Jolene ran that last one off, but she sure did want to go Gato a Possum around 2200 last night.

Fingers crossed for you as well!

I haven’t seen Hummingbird Thunderdome yet this year, but or feeder is getting regular business.

A hazy, sunny day in MSP, and I VOTED! Our slate this time included a new governor/Lt. governor and a new senator (federal) along with the usual house races. Our polling place is at a local art museum and there is free parking. Our building also does van runs all day.

We have a pending visit from the niece in a couple of hours, which is always pleasant.

Think I’ll make spaghetti and meatballs for dinner. Our local grocery has started carrying ready-made meatballs from their butcher department, so I want to give them a try. We also bought the makings for strawberry shortcake yesterday.

Hi back at ya!

T

Today I Door Dashed a home pregnancy test.

So they changed the schedule after I left yesterday, and didn’t tell anyone. Also, Meth-ed Up Squirrel Girl called in, so there was 3 carts of stuff to clerk. And the Supreme Shouting Officer’s boos was coming, so TPTB were in a tizzy. I was bouncing back and forth between the 100 and 300 Slides clerking stuff. And right about driver start time, they bring 3 carts of damages and clerk work irregs and jam up the area in front of the Slides and the last sets of package cars. Ken the Driver helped me move a couple of the badly loaded carts out of the way, so the drivers could get out.
Ken: “I hope they pay you well for this.”
Me: “They pay me the same as the guy who did this.”
Ken: “…”
It wasn’t as horrible as I thought, I was out by 11. I had chorizo, egg, and Hatch Chilie tacos for lunch. Now it’s naptime, since I have a 0300 start time tomorrow. [Squirrely Dan]Allegedly[/Squirrely Dan]

I enjoyed that one.

I read that as “koritza had her redneck at the vet”.

< Onan makes fight jestures towards Tenn. >

Whether it’s Vogon Constructor Fleets, the Ravenous Bugblatter Beast of Traal, or the Collected Works of Paula Nancy Millstone Jennings, I’m set because I keep my towel with me.

Proably not the oddest thing somebody ordered through DoorDash.

Well, another thing I delivered today was a universal remote control. I didn’t even know that was a thing anymore.

Evenin’

Time has apparently sped up today; I’m doing something for 10 minutes, look at the clock and 2 hours has gone. It’s probably something to do with the approaching eclipse.

I also basically didn’t sleep last night, as my brain wouldn’t switch off. Sometimes I think I need someone with a giant comedy mallet to knock me out.

Had a slight bit of stress reduction though- my chaos friend has apparently signed on a reasonably priced rental place in Madrid for a year contract. Him 'n his wife have to be out their current flat before the end of the month, and they were having real trouble finding somewhere in budget in a place that both of them agreed on. It should be less stressful than where they’re currently living in Germany.

Even better, it has a spare bedroom…

Not as many as one might suppose - it has been 50 years since I started there…

That would be me. And you know, after the first bake and the stuffing, you can wrap them up and freeze 'em for future use. They keep a good, long time, in my experience.

We’ve been deer-free since Otis got the fawn. Plus we repaired the leaning fence, so maybe we’ll remain deer-free?? I know my hosta would appreciate that.

We both assumed the recliner position after breakfast this morning, and next thing I know, it’s 10AM and we’ve done nothing! So we showered, dressed, and headed to the marina. Putting the mattress on the berth for Otis was the easy part. Taking the stove out, not so much.

It was just >< that much too wide to fit out the largest doorway. No idea how they got it in unless they removed a window. Anyway, it was an OLD stove (remember when Avocado and Harvest Gold and Copper were in every stylish kitchen? This was copper.) So FCD disassembled it. There were some good sheets of stainless steel that he kept, but the rest of the nasty thing was tossed. I wheeled all the bits to the dumpster and Brad (the painter) helped me empty the cart.

I went to get our lunch at McD’s, and not only did I have to wait forever for them to bring my order out, but they brought the wrong one. Oh, the slip on the bag was right, but whoever filled the order couldn’t tell the difference between a McCrispy sammich and 2 Filet-o-Fish sammiches (one, no tartar sauce.) Silly me, I didn’t look till I got back to the boat and I wasn’t about to drive back. They will be getting an email, tho. Maybe I’ll get a coupon or something.

We’re home. FCD is in his shop. I need to empty the dishwasher. And I got the card in the mail about early pellet ordering, so I need to call them. I’ve already declared that supper will be forage. Thus shall be the rest of my day.

Howdy Y’all! Laundry got laundered and put away where it stays until it gets dirty again. I also took a chikin outta da freezer to start thawin’ as I must make chikin sallit on Thursday, that will become sammiches for the reception after the funeral on Firday. Apparently I am now the church’s chikin sallit sammich king. We had lunch at the not too shabby hog trough Chinese buffet. Then it was nappage and chillage time. I feel the need to stave off malaria and scurvy and watch some stoopid teevee now.

What do you put in your chickin sallit?

We are home and the sling is gone!!! I’m still on weight restrictions that include not supporting my weight with my arm but I can start doing Tai Chi again. My back is going to be so happy, all of my joints were getting stiff because I’ve just been sitting around.

I used to destroy moral at work by reminding the high performers that I made the same as them but still went hom on time.

Hooray!! Two arms!
