Up, Up and Away in the MMP

The stuff was like crepe paper and had chunks of wood in it! We had to travel to those countries a lot and we always took a couple of rolls with us.

Yay!

Did the podiatrist today and will do infectious disease doctor tomorrow. I know I’ve said this before, but I will be so glad when this is done.

Hooray!!!

Hurray! Now she can pay the bills while looking for something better.

:people_hugging:

I just took a good look at the calendar and realized that I’m only 6 1/2 weeks post-surgery. I thought I was at least a third of the way through by now. :sob:

My PT guy seems happy with my progress, but still hurts me anyhow. I’m happy with my progress as well. I am much better than I was six weeks ago and am starting to regain muscle. The nerves are also regrowing, I can tell by the sudden sharp pain that disappears as quickly as it comes.

I’ll be seeing my surgeon’s PA tomorrow, hopefully she will clear me to drive. I won’t be doing any mountain road driving for a couple more weeks but I think I’m OK for town driving.

If you hear much screaming and wailing coming from West Virginny, you will know that I have to keep wearing my sling.

Evening all. Most of the afternoon was spent sweating off calories, mostly successfully, despite my usual over-consumption on the weekend (should not have bought that 1/2 pecan pie on Sunday…), weight is down 1.4lbs, so eating less does help decrease weight…who’da thunk it…  Inside now and nothing much planned for the remainder of the day, so will work on my RDOS credentials. No rain and still 86F at 7:30pm, so inside is the place to be.

VanGO, I get that on the treadmill at times, don’t want to stop but trying to clean my glasses while walking 3.6mph on an incline is…not a good idea. Hope Ms. Peach forgives you for the shots and the pedi).

Cookie, never considered moving overseas, but you and Mollie mentioning it gives me some thought.

Nellie, Great News about daughter! And sometimes a new start leads to a life-long career. My teaching career never really got started, then I got the government job and a couple changes later, ended up in Foreign Military Sales for 30 years. Best wishes to her.

JtC, 6.5 weeks? It seems longer to you, but I thought it was just a couple weeks ago…this timey-wimey stuff can be hard to fathom… Anf good news on the progress, may it continue post-visit tomorrow.

And that’s all for now, working at trying to resist eating anything more tonight (but probably will get the 2sday morning apple here in a bit). Take care all.

Is that perhaps The Closer with Kyra Sedgwick?

My wife likes that show. Me….meh

T

Woohoo!!!

Hi!

You terrible human being. How dare you?

YAAAYYYYYY!

I wonder if my Jeep would have noticed anything.

swampy - FCD lurves crime shows. He even listens to some on Sirius. I like some, but not the same ones over and over. Thankfully these days he watches on his laptop using headphones, so I’m spared.

YAY nellie-daughter!

We got a short but intense downpour earlier that really brought the temp down. But it added to the humidity. Yay for a/c!

I just took half a mel (hence lower case) and I hope it knocks me out soon. Me need sleepy…

Spot did not try to assault me, so I had a good nap. Now I’m up and having an Old Fashioned. Dinner tonight is chicken and wild rice with green beans and mushrooms.

It was on display in the bottom of a locked filing cabinet stuck in a disused lavatory with a sign on the door saying Beware of the Leopard. And it is a city street.

Well at some point they tore up 50% of the westbound lane, and when I was leaving, htere was a guy with a leaf blower trying to blow it away?

“Why does this road seem more fun to drive than usual?”

Yay!
{{{{nellie}}}}

Late night final, not that there is anything to report (did eat an apple, but left other snackage alone and no more Pepsi, so yay me…). Off to bed sooner than later.

I understood that reference. Hopefully the Earth doesn’t get blown up next…

And that’s all folks. Catch y’all tomorrow.

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Off to heave. It’s 75 degrees Ferret Height(23.889 Centipedes). The Heat Index is 87f(30.556C).

Morning, mumpers! It’s currently 18c/65f with a predicted high of 26c/79f and sunny. Weather app says “The fucking sun is talking trash behind your fucking back.”

nellie Great news about you daughter’s new job!

We had a good journey over here, our Eurostar train was late getting into St Pancras so we were about 20 minutes late leaving but it didn’t matter as there are fairly frequent trains from Brussels through to Antwerp.

Today’s plans involve a wander down to the river and a slow walk around town. But first, I need a shower!

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 76 Amurrkin out and mostly clear with a predicted high of 93 and partly to mostly cloudy. No quality cee-mint pond time today, as we both overdid it a bit yestiddy. However, it’s laundry day, so I have that excitatement in my life. OYKW told me he has had a gnawin’ and a cravin’ to go to the not too shabby Chinese hog trough buffet, so we shall do that at lunch for today’s main need to feed.

Nellie HUZZAH for daughter and her new gig!

JtC appropriate/inappropriate appendages crossed that you will lose the sling today.oser

Trieste yeah, I believe it’s The Closer. All of those crime shows seem like the same one to me.

BooFae glad 'im indoors and you made it safely to Belgium. Have Fun!

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, well, laundry awaits! Rah.

Happy Tuesday Y’all!

Today begins with 68 Ferrets, possibly peaking at 90. I’ll be doing Cetol at some point. I was going to do it first thing but someone was impatient and did the first coat last night, and I seem to recall that you have to wait 24 hours between coats. So who knows what’s on the agenda. Since it’s on the cool side to start, I may yank some more weeds.

I’ve been looking at recipes for Mexican fried ice cream and most are variations that don’t require a deep fryer, which is good since I don’t have one. The most intriguing recipe is made in layers in a sheet cake pan. I’m thinking that might be how I do it. I plan to serve it next week when Mom and my sister are here.

Speaking of sister (a different one in this case), my BIL is still in the ICU. He got a feeding tube and a tracheostomy over the weekends, and they detected A-fib, so they’re keeping him. I’m starting to wonder if he’ll survive the 3 weeks till his surgery is scheduled. My sister is still clinging to the notion that it’s not cancer, despite the main involvement of an oncologist. Dunno if it’s denial or she really doesn’t know what an oncologist does. Regardless, she’s in for a rough time.

For those who lost their programs, the aforementioned sister is a year younger than I am. The one coming with my mom is 7 years younger, and the youngest sister is 11 years younger. My one and only brother is 2 anna half years younger. I suppose I could just use names since none of them come here, but I think not. Thanks for playing!

Beyond that, not a lot going on. FCD’s last surviving aunt (82 y/o) called last night and she wants us to visit. We need to pick a date. And I’m thinking while we’re there, I want to go visit the campus in West Lafayette. It’s about 66 miles, so not a ridiculously long trek. The main concern is parking once we get there, since walking is a real challenge for FCD. We shall see.

So, onward into the day! Happy Tuesday!!

Thank God! They got rid of the weed/bush that was blocking my window! Of course, anyone walking by can see in but now I get sun.

yest. was w f h, as koritza had her recheck at the vet. she is a good girl at the vet. it would be good to get her to gain .5 to a full pound in weight. very difficult as she is a very picky eater.

got a bit of tiding done this weekend and yest.. i got a baggie of various tool things that i gave to the maintainance crew. hammer, screwdrivers, allen wrench, that sort of thing. they seemed happy. i gave the front desk crew a screwdriver as well.

nelliebly, i’m so happy for your daughter!! that is a big relief.

fcm, perhaps assign them numbers or nicknames, ie rose, daisy, hiacinth…

I check my emails first thing in the mornings. Today I got a fraud alert on one of my credit cards. I got the card, and called the number on the back. I was informed there was suspicious activity, and asked if I made the charge. No. I was put on hold to talk to a human. In the meantime, I checked text messages. Fraud alert there, too. I logged into my account. Yep. There’s a warning. (Obviously, I’m not going to click anything in an email; hence, multiple sources.) Sorry, PAYMENTS BAKERY COLOMBIA, you don’t get my 32¢, and the card is now cancelled.

I’ve also notified the vendor, via email, which is the only place I use this card, that they may have been hacked and their customers’ data may have been compromised.

We’re having a brief thunderstorm, and 71 ferrets are dancing around in their briefs. Oh, look! The ferrets’ lawyers are trooping in with their briefcases. They’re running around, filing suits, and singing Runaround Sue. I’m getting carried away.

I’ve been searching my dusty old brain for that answer. I can hear the singer’s voice in my head, but can’t quite pin it down.

There’s an old joke about John Wayne toilet paper. “It’s rough, and it’s tough, and it don’t take no shit off nobody.”
