The Dre album has been worked on for over 5+ years. It’s ridiculous now at this point. But that’s the problem with working with an obsessive perfectionist- great for producing other people’s music, terrible for making his own albums. Hell, Eminem’s last album (not the greatest hits one) ended with Em saying that Dre would release the album soon enough. Still hasn’t happened.
Eminem is still working on his currently with a few tracks already laid down. But I expect Eminem’s will be out sooner than Dre’s mythical Album. Dre’s De-Tox is the Chinese Democracy of Rap albums.
Yes, of course, new singer, but I’m cautiously VERY optimistic from what I’ve heard so far. The band is intact, and IMO they’re about the most underrated ever.
April 8th, Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin, Man Man, and Tapes 'n Tapes are out. A few weeks later David Karsten Daniels and No Age drop, and yesterday Sun Kil Moons first original album since 2003 silently found its way to the market. Life is good for music.
Dredg and Massive Attack are slated for new albums, and if they come out this year I’ll be a happy man. I’m sure one of Mike Patton’s projects will release new music, too.
