(This is even more pathetic facing the fact that I am nearly 36, not 12. I would like to state I have never gotten into Star Trek, RenFaire’s, Civil War Reinactments…but I just love this series.)
Whether it is done or not is a matter of opinion. since Rowling says she is still doing some tweaking, it could take months to finish that. I’m not gonna hold my breath. I need to buy movie tickets before they sell out for friday…
OK, I think I’ve managed to piece together this one. Thanks to JessEnigma for pointing me in the right direction.
Apparently, at the London premier of The Chamber of Secrets, a BBC children’s program interviewed JK Rowling. She described the book as being all but finished, saying that “I’m really pleased with it, I’m just going to tweak it a tiny bit more, then the publishers will have it.” She said that she is “weeks away” from delivering it to her publishers.
Generally speaking, the time from when the publishers get it until it hits the shelves is about five months.
Her publisher is saying that the book is not done because they don’t have it yet. Which is true without contradicting what JK Rowling has said. She could decide to “tweak” this thing 'till the cows come home despite what she said in the interview.
In any event, there should be some kind of announcement when the publishers get the book. Which may come in the next few weeks if Ms. Rowling is to be believed.
I’ll proved this cite, but be warned - It contains SPOILERS right at the top of the page:
