So Inkleberry and I have managed to devour all of the Harry Potter books in the last month, and now we eagerly await the next installment. When is it? Anyone know?

Well, seeing as she has just started writing it this month, according to her website, you will be waiting for awhile. I personally think it won’t hit until the last quarter of 2007.

Her schedule has been pretty consistent (except for when she took some time off after Book four to weather the storm of fame, get married, and have a baby). She takes about a year to write the book, and then six months after completion it’s released. Books five and six were July 2003 and July 2005 respectively.

Expect book seven in July 2007. That’s my educated guess.

All Harry Potter fans suffer together. I’m right there with you, I survive through re-readings and finding decent fan fiction to read. Well, I guess I read other stuff too.

I’m waiting for book 6 in paperback (june 2006 I think)

So now, to kill a little time, watch all the movies.

Meanwhile, don’t you sort of NOT want the next one to come out? It’s the last one, you know. That means there will be no more. I’m very torn, myself.

Posting on the SDMB is FAR geekier than reading HP.

Don’t forget the two little books about Quidditch and Magical Creatures.

And I feel the same way–it’s the last one. I do want to read it, but then the series is over.

I know we will still have the films, but no HP film has ever totally captured HP’s world for me (even though the 3 do embody Harry, Ron and Hermione for me-it’s a weird disconnect. Some characters are spot on, like Maggie Smith as McGonnagall, but others…)

That’s strange. I read your post, assuming you’d give a reason for not wanting the next one to come out, but I don’t see anything. Nothing at all. Zilch.
