Upon ending my MA program - a reflective MMP

What a cutie you have there, Ellen! But what a hailstorm! I still remember many years ago standing in my doorway watching fist-sized hailstones falling on my unprotected nearly-brand-new, 3-month-old car. :frowning: I’m glad your car came through okay, except for pine tree junk!

How are you feeling this morning, Haze?

I finally got in the groove fairly late yesterday evening and so stayed up waaaay too late working. So waking up this morning was a challenge. I’m caffeinated now and hopefully will have a productive day, though. It’s a simply gorgeous day, clear and sunny and cool and just totally delightful; I’ve got all the windows open and at least can enjoy the lovely fresh air as I work. It does make me feel more cheerful, just being able to enjoy the fresh air as I work. That’s one thing I really do NOT miss about working in an office!

And for those of you who are Jericho fans, good news: The crazy fans have been deluging CBS with nuts (based, of course, on the final episode), over 15 tons thus far, I believe, and as a result CBS is actually sitting up and taking notice – they’re in serious talks with the producer to bring the show back midseason for 8 more episodes, with an eye towards continuing the run if it does well enough! So it looks like you might as well do whatever it is you have to do to watch the final episode or two, BooFae, because it’s about 99% sure that it’ll be back next season! Yeeehah!

On one road trip when I was in grade school (I think we were on our way to or back from Historic Williamsburg) we (mom, dad, bro, and I) made the time pass by playing car games (I’m thinking of something…; liscense plate game, etc) and somehow got onto the topic of what constitued a shelter. We talked about whether or not a car qualified, with the majority leaning towards no - when a hail storm descended upon us, and we all changed our answers to yes!

OMG! When I heard it was cancelled, I deleted all the episodes I had recorded since the break. Without watching them. Crap. (Maybe they’ll repeat them?)

Shame on you, Rebo – the episodes after the break were about 1000% better than the pre-break ones! They got way from the soap opera and things got really dark and interesting. Hopefully they’ll release the DVD set; in the meantime, you can still watch them on CBS (if you can get their crappy video viewer to work – I’ve not had much luck with it).

I DROVE!
Just down to the of the cul-de-sac and back, twice, but I did it! Which mens I can get myself to the doc’s to morrow! YAY!

Yay, BioRosie!

Is that a Freudian slip?

no, just a Jungian t-shirt

Way to go, BioRosie!

I start work tomorrow. I’m nervous about it, too. I never expected to work for the Big 4 again, and certainly not so soon. That, and I turned down a couple of other contracts yesterday. I did make a note of the recruiter who was trying desperately to get me to take her contract, even though I’d already told her I had accepted this one. I should have asked her how she’d like it if I’d done that to her. She kept asking me how I’d found a contract “so soon.” Available immediately means available immediately, as in, I’ll take the next contract that comes along that meets my requirements. So there. :stuck_out_tongue:

Heh. He’s actually quite charming initially. All my friends who met him only briefly thought he was great.

Those hailstones look wicked. And cutekiddiepics squeee!

Congrats, rosie! Freedom shall soon be yours.

MamaTigs, swampy, thanks for asking. I think. :stuck_out_tongue: I am surviving. Yesterday I had a Baileys, followed by shots of Wild Turkey, kaluha, and a lemon drop. :smack: That is a LOT of alcohol for me. I’m surprised I was even able to get up today.

Yikes, Ellen! Did anyone get hurt?

Woo-hoo rosie!!!

Back from shopping. Time for nap #2, right after lunch. i feel kind of queasy today, but I haven’t thrown up.

I’m with** Ellen** on this one, Haze. I can see why he’s The Guy.

Just got back from our team “welcome the new person lunch.” On the recommendation of one of my teammates, I tried the butternut squash ravioli. It was gooooooooood! ::burp:: I need a nap now though.

YAY BIOROSIE!!!

In other news, I’m bein’ wined and dined this evenin’. Ok, it’s at a bbq place so I guess it’s more like iced tead and dined. Sigh I suppose I shall have to show my “appreciation” afterward.

Aw, you poor thang!

Yay, Rosie!!!

yay rosie!!!

Here’s a new one. I was talking to our network administrator here about getting access to my bus contractor to our routing software database. I can set them up as a user with read-only access, but they need to be VPN’d or something so they can get into our server. Anyway - the weird part is this: I was going to tell him how to reach the tech guy at the software company so they can tech-talk to each other about this and I was getting ready to give him the e-mail address which I know off the top of my head and he stopped me BECAUSE HE DOESN’T DO E-MAIL.

A tech guy that wants to talk on the phone and not e-mail?

What’s the world coming to?

Hurrah for BioRosie!

Today has just been one of those days; everything I touch I ruin. I think I’m just going to crawl in a hole for the rest of the day.

Wh00t!!

ellen Hail… Baby…

rosie, awesome!

They’ve turned off the damn water again!
Aaagh!

Kitties and more kitties. I’d guess they range from 3" to 5" tall - I’d measure if it didn’t require me to walk all the way downstairs!!! Lesson learned was that I should use white clay (instead of red) so the colors will be bright and pretty, like on the medallions. Next critter batch will be white - besides kitties, I’m going to try bunnies, puppies, and mice. I just need to come up with a better way of making the heads - they take a long time and they’re not as smooth as I’d like. Maybe I’ll try making a mold…

**FCD ** is almost home, and we’ve got a fun afternoon planned. First we empty the van, then fill it with trash and recycling. Stop at convenience center. Stop at pharmacy for my drugs. Go to marina and pick up some tools. Go to Wal Mart for doggie cookies. Go to Michael’s for cord. Come home. Eat supper. Yay. Control your envy - we can’t all live such a life of glamour!! :stuck_out_tongue:

And since I forgot to mention it in my last post:

YAY rosie!!!

Good on ya, **Bobbio ** - has it really been 2 years already??

What the hail, Ellen??

Hugs to the rest of ya!

They are so KEE-UTE!! If you want my opinion, keep making them freehand. They are tres folk art and incredibly Jake (to borrow a phrase from an old bear)!
