I’ve been diligently typing notes to go along with my slides foy my powerpoint presentation today. However, I thought I could print them out alongside minaturized slides, three per page, like I can with a handout.
However, I can only print out 1 slide per page with the accompanying notes. My notes are only speaking reminders 1-2 lines each. Is there any way I can put 3 slides along with my notes for them on each page? The other way is a huge waste of paper and ink.
You might want to see if your printer’s drivers let you print more than one page on a single piece of paper. After you go to File -> Print in Powerpoint, choose the “Properties” button next to your printer and see if you can find the feature. If your printer supports it, Powerpoint will still think it’s printing one slide per page, but your printer would put two, four, or eight slides on every actual page of paper.
Sorry – it’s probably more like 2, 4, 6, 9… not 2, 4, 8. Also, if your printer lets you do it, double-sided printing (using both sides of the paper) would also help you save ink.
This is what I do:
Click on the word File on the extreme lefthand potion of the toolbar. This opens up a menu with lots of choices. Click on Print
This brings up the Print Box
Down near the bottom on the left you will see
Print What: followed by a white box with a little arrow on the right side. (It has a name but I don’t know it). Chances are it says - Slides in it. Click on the little arrow and you’ll see other options: Handouts, Outline View, and Notes Pages.
Click on Handouts. When you do that, the number of slides per page box will come to life. You can select as few as 1 or as many as 9 per page. Click on the number of slides per page you want to print.
Click OK box
You’re handout presentation should begin printing away merrily.
Don’t ask me how many times I had to screw with this before I got it down.
Argh, gah – If I’d known you could do that (print out mini slides with notes), I’d have done that instead of blathering off the cuff from memory for a similar presentation this week.
