US Big Brother 3

From what I’ve heard, there was talk of throwing the competition so Amy could win it and put up Marcellas. Frankly, I think that would have been rather stupid (because there is a second nomination, after all), but it didn’t matter anyway.

Marc & Amy, and Marc’s already bitching. Surprise.

As for the twist, it’s not terribly mind-shattering, apparently. Just that this week is the last veto, and one can use it on oneself. I still don’t know how they’re going to get rid of 3 people in 2 weeks, though.

Scratch the part about not being able to figure out how they’re going to get rid of 3 people in two weeks. I just remembered exactly how they did it last year.

Since the penultimate eviction will have no veto and no voting, they will just have the new HoH choose someone to evict immediately after that competition. Therefore, the last five days or so will just be the Final 2.

I’d totally forgotten about this until I got a flashbulb memory of Nicole telling Monica to hit the road right after that final HoH competition last year, with Will off to the side smirking.

I’m going to try to start relaying live feed recaps again tomorrow. I’m having a little trouble finding enough time to actually sit down and read them the last week.

Just a little evictee news:

Eric was suspended from his job for two months, I think. Apparently his district supervisor is a by-the-book guy and, while he wished him well in the game, felt that his violation of the time-off rules had to be addressed.

Gerry isn’t happy with the way the other houseguests talked behind his back, especially Marcellas and Danielle.

Chiara has already hit Vegas with Boobsya. Thank God I’m 2500 miles away.

Roddy has been interviewed. The general effect served to bolster the “arrogant prick” characterization. He’s terribly, terribly hurt that those people in that house would talk that way about him. Terribly hurt. I somehow wish there were a way to post a huge middle finger with the words “hurt this, asshole” on it. I hate him.

jayjay, I read that Eric was suspended for two weeks, not months. And the union is fighting it. Apparently he traded time with the others in his department to make up for it.

Well, I said I thought it was two months. If I haven’t learned to hedge anything I base on my memory by now, I’m in trouble.

Sheesh - one would think that these people had either quit their jobs or at least cleared it with their employers before the final interviews and whatnot to be in the house.

Any news on the outcome of Chiwhorea’s DUI court case that I was think was suppose to happen Sept. 3?

At least Eric made arrangements for his shifts to be covered. Dani just up and left, according to her. Didn’t tell anyone at work that she was going to be disappearing at all. That’s why she’s been on her “I might not have a job when I get out of here” kick all this time. If I were her boss, there would be no “might” about it.

Well, it’s hard to clear it for sure when you aren’t told until about two hours before it’s time to leave. They kind of kidnap you. Sure, you can say, “Hey, I’m in the semi-final round of interviews,” but there’s no certainty in that.

Besides, from what I read, he thought he was covered because the other guys agreed to trade shifts in order to take his slots. Or at least that’s what he’s saying now.

As for Chi-whore-a, yes, she had her day in court and pled no contest.

According to The Smoking Gun website (http://www.thesmokinggun.com/archive/bb3berti.html), she was sentenced to 3 years probation, fined almost $1200, ordered to attend a 3-month alcohol awareness program (no word on whether watching Amy constitutes part of her time served there), has to take part in the Hospital and Morgue program, which brings people in for a look at mangled bodies from crashes (ick), and she can only drive to and from work.

When Lisa from The Mole 2 left, she used all her vacation (players in that game are not allowed to tell people what they are doing). On the very next execution after the last day that she could have come back and still had a job, she was the one who lost.

Lucky for her, they agreed to take her back, but only on the condition that she not participate in any more reality TV shows.

Jayjay

I’m not sure what you’re saying. Won’t there be four left and not three? Does the twist you mentioned apply to the five current or the four next? I’d like to begin running the permutations, but I need that cleared up. Also, if someone does use a veto either on himself or someone else, can he be put up or is he immune?

[…sigh…]

That was I, and not Edlyn.

Libertarian, there are five houseguests left right now. The show ends on Sept. 25. That’s 16 days from now. There are two eviction days between now and then, this Thursday and next Thursday. That means that as of next Thursday evening, there will be three people left. When the HoH competition next Thursday is over, the new HoH will pick the last evictee right then and there. There is no vote and no veto. That will leave two people for the final five days. The next Wednesday after that is the last night of BB3, when all the evicted hamsters come back and vote for the winner.

Thanks for the info, Jayjay. So the twist applies this time only (this Thursday), right? Could you answer whether a vetoer can be nominated to replace the person he vetos?

No. As far as I know, the veto-holder is still immune. There was much speculation at Jason’s dilemma if Lisa had gotten this veto and removed either Amy or Marcellas. Jason would have been forced to replace the veto-ee with his strongest ally, Mama Dani.

Unfortunately…

Marcellas won the veto last night

The veto comp must have been massive. The hamsters were in lockdown all day yesterday. The veto comp (or at least the FOTH that told us that it was going on) started at about 10PM their time and lasted almost four hours. From their comments afterwards, it was a massively complex house trivia/photo recognition/obstacle course set-up. After they went back into the house, Lisa said “I’d like to see the tape of that.” So it must have been something.

Oh, and yes, the twist is only for this eviction cycle. It’s the last veto of this Big Brother, so there’s no veto next week. Veto would be a little ridiculous when there’s only one non-nominee, non-HoH hamster in the house.

Okay, thanks again Jayjay. I will miss your commentary when it’s all over. I hope you’ll share your comments on Survivor when it starts up. You seem to be able to read the zeitgeist very well. I’ll wait to do the permutations until the most recent spoiler is a bit older. Frankly, I think that spoilers should be assumed in this thread. But I’m not paid by the SD to think, so…

I can’t believe this tired old dawg is nearing the end.

Well, I guess there’s no way the person who won the veto is gonna use it! heh.

Should be interesting.

Lola, with this veto, you can veto yourself. That makes this whole thing just slightly more interesting.

Spoiler space, because I’m not putting an entire motive dissection into the box.

The question is whether or not Marc is nervous enough about his chances against Amy to take himself off the block. On the one hand, he can’t, even at this point, admit that he needed to be vetoed to survive the first week. He has struggled with the uncertainty of whether he would have gone or not this whole time. Given that, I’m not entirely certain that he would veto himself, since he definitely thinks he has an edge against Amy.

On the other hand, Marc is such a weasely, self-righteous bitch that I’m sure he can justify vetoing himself some way or another.

I’d love to see him get overconfident, not use it, and end up going. Mostly because, aside from Jason and Lisa, I think it would be incredibly entertaining for them all to want to take Amy to the Final Two as a “sure thing” the way Nicole did with Will, then have the jury hand Amy the $500K. This would only happen if the Final Two are Dani/Amy or Marc/Amy, however. Jason wins against any of the remaining houseguests. Lisa wins against anyone but Jason. Amy wins against Dani or Marc. Personally, I think a Final Two consisting of Dani and Marc is a toss-up. Marc is an iron-clad asshole, with definite vote-againsts from Gerry, Tonya, Josh, probably Chiara. Dani…well, let’s just say that Dani’s Diary Room antics have made her a very unlikely win. Evictee interviews have already brought that out. I think she’s playing for 2nd place and the $50K, because she seems to have realized that she shot herself in the foot with the evictees.

As for Survivor, my apologies, Libertarian. Big Brother is the only reality show I watch. Probably because it’s much more of a soap opera than any of the others.

Heh…I’m already starting to miss my Big Brother, and it’s not even over yet. Can’t wait for next July!

Interesting, indeed. In fact, it was probably the most interesting of all the veto winner possiblities.
