If a person is saved from eviction by the person with veto power (like Jerry did for Marcellas) -does the said saved person then get to vote a person out? I can’t remember if Marci voted in the first eviction or not.
No, the HOH has to choose a replacement.
I believe callie meant whether the saved nominee gets to vote after the new nominee is chosen. Yes, that is the case. Marcellas voted for Lori.
The HoH picks someone else to be nominated in their place, and the person vetoed out gets to vote like always.

This is going to be a very interesting week. Who wants to lay odds that the GerryAvoidance disappears this week? Sucking up to the HoH is a valued tradition in the Habitrail.
Notice that they didn’t show Skanchi’s and Alanis’s goodbyes to Amy? On the live feeds, after the Amy Lovefest, those two holed up in the bedroom and just oozed AmyHate for at least 1/2 hour, and then determined that they were going to record the meanest, most insulting, nasty farewell messages ever. This is why you did not see a farewell message from Alanis and Skanchi. I hope Gerry puts up the girls…I hope, I hope, I hope, I hope!
If Gerry keeps to his promise to Shoddy (have to change the name since he’s no longer HoH), he won’t put him up. He could put up Lisa and Eric…I know he was talking about nominating Lisa if he ever got HoH, just to break up the couples. Maybe Lisa and Skanchi, though he’d probably be doing at least Shoddy a favor if he managed to get rid of Chihora.
Amazingly, he probably won’t put up Satanspawn…he made a deal (with the Devil!). And he won’t put up Marcie, because then he wouldn’t have anyone he could try to make feel guiltygrateful for saving him the first week.
Too early to start speculating, I guess, but it will definitely be an interesting week.
So, can anyone fill me in on what the HOH contest was? A friend of mine came over, and I missed it. I can’t believe Gerry’s HOH though–this couldn’t have been a better twist.

They all were given picture paddles of the three evicted hamsters, Shoddy, and a red X (for “none of the above”) and were asked questions about those four people (“Who has a daughter named Cody?” would be the X, because Tonya has a daughter named Cody). It came down to Irk and Gerry and they kept both getting the them right or wrong (in which case they’re both still in and they go on to a new question). The tie-breaker was “What is the combined height of the three evicted houseguests?” Gerry came closest (I think Eric got confused (surprise, surprise…) and thought that the question included all of the people he had paddles for (including Shoddy)…his answer would have made the three evicted women average around 7 1/2 feet tall. 
They voted for Amy 7-0. The ugly duckling, that’s sure to make her feel upset.
I can’t understand why y’all want Josh to be evicted!?!! I think he’s great entertainment. The show needs to have at least one jerk to keep things interesting. Who would want to watch a show that only had the nice people? Anyone remember how exciting BB1 was?
I’m glad that Gerry has HoH this week. Now if he’s smart, he’ll break up the couples…and the best way to do this would be to nominate: Eric and Chiara. This will put Roddy & Lisa in a rough spot. Roddy would probably have to vote against his bud Eric, while Lisa will have to nix Chiara. So not only will it bust up their alliance, but their votes will be neutralized, allow the other clique to decide who to vote off.
Of course, since a Eric/Chiara nomination would be the best strategy, I’m sure that dense Gerry won’t do it!
Actually, and I know this is blasphemy, but Satanspawn actually doesn’t seem quite as annoying after the last week of The Couples Run Amok. I really hope Gerry puts up Irk and Skanchi, and Shoddy gets the veto. Won’t that be a dilemma…save his ally in The Boys Alliance or save his “girlfriend”? All I can say is that if he didn’t veto Skanchi, he’d better hope to God that she gets voted out. I can only imagine the hell she’d put him through if she doesn’t get evicted.
Or, Gerry puts up Alanis and Skanchi, and Shoddy gets the veto. If he removes Skanchi, Gerry should put Irk up in her place. Either way, they need to break the Couples up!

Almost forgot to cover the show tonight.
I loved that they finally started showing how Shoddy is playing Skanchi. Like I’ve said, the only thing that could possibly make me feel a little sorry for her is the way she’s being played. The quick cut (with classic “phono needle being ripped across LP” sound FX) between Shoddy being all lovey-dovey with Skanchi in the hammock and then him talking to Eric about how he’s only interested in how long he can keep her votes under his control was beautiful.
To all those folks who just love Roddy and can’t figure out why some people hate him, this is why. That charming, debonair, pseudo-intellectual, good-looking exterior hides a slimy, grinch-like soul.
