Anyone who thinks this is silly hyperbole needs to remember that something like 61% of Republicans believe the 2020 election was stolen, because an orange shit-gibbon said so.
If I had to guess I’d say it’s still going to be McCarthy.
But if she runs as the Trumpist alternative to McCarthy, she may lose the few remaining “moderate” members of the Republican caucus. With no Democrats willing to vote for either of them, it’s likely no one can get a majority.
As for Ryan, he was all but forced into the role when McCarthy couldn’t get enough Republicans to back him. He didn’t want it, but he was the only member who was broadly acceptable to the entire caucus.
My money’s on McCarthy eventually being able to pull it off, but if not, I’d predict that Steve Scalise gets the gavel.
The gap is closing in Nevada, now just separated by less than 800 votes, Clark county, Cortez just got 63 % of the vote.

About 68k to go in Nevada. The presser stated it should be mostly done by Saturday night. With a few hundred stragglers to get in by Monday.
Sisolak is still over 21,000 behind for governor though so probably not going to pull that one off.
Interesting that Nevada has 11,289 ‘none of the above’ votes compared to that 800.
