US Midterm Election watch along thread

217r- 207d.

The “backwards” flag on the sleeve always looks odd to me.

The correctly displayed vertical flag always looks odd to me.

771 votes as of this morning. Today is the last day to cure ballots, should have a much better idea how many votes are outstanding by tonight.

To those talking about the backwards flag and flag etiquette, please drop it from this thread. You’re welcome to start a new one.

@Acsenray, @Dinsdale @ThelmaLou @JaneDoe42 and anyone I might have missed.

Hidden as ignored prior post. A mod instruction.

Simplest explanation: Probably just editors flipping the picture. They probably liked how the arm with the gun framed the left side of the poster and didn’t think the flag was a dealbreaker.

The tortoise lives!

Sorry about that, didn’t think I was ignoring the mod instruction as I was addressing photo editing rather than flag protocol. Carry on.

Rebulicans have 218 now. Now to see what the margin is for the majority.

Aaaaah….yup!

Mayes is still leading in Arizona by 691 votes, and she has a large enough margin that I doubt the recount will change anything. Despite the naysayers, Arizona election workers are honest and skillful. The counts are accurate.

CO - 3 will have a difference of less than 0.5% meaning recount time.

Mayes’ lead is down to 170 votes. Maricopa says 2900 Election Day ballots plus maybe 2000 that have been cured this week. Unclear if the Election Day ballots were “Door 3” (unreadable and saved for manual processing) votes, which would break strongly red, or early ballots dropped off which I believe also break red but not as strongly.

About 800 ready to tabulate in Coconino and Pima, which break blue.

Still potential cures and provisionals.

I am very, very worried right now.

Pima just dumped everything but provisionals. Lead down to 94. Doubleplus ungood.

I think I’m not allowed to freely express myself in this forum, so I will just say that I am VERY disappointed.

I’m so confused about this race. FiveThirtyEight says Mayes is in the lead by 427 votes. NYT doesn’t seem to have updated yet and shows Mayes up but 619. Not seeing anything with the lead down to 94.

AZ Secretary of State website https://azsos.gov/elections shows current vote totals plus estimate of outstanding ballots.

Lead is up to 143.

Thanks! At least that’s an improvement.

No way this thing doesn’t go to a recount.

Any speculation/data on Boebert getting tossed? It’s been days and days it seems.

Last I looked she was up 1000 or so votes. Still some votes out but I know what %. Certainly a recount as well.
