He went all-in against Talarico and lost, so no.
Nevada is now reporting votes. So far Ford (D) is leading Lombado (R) 51.3 to 44.7% with 71% or the votes counted. That’s for Governor.
ETA: A few more votes in from MS: Colom (D) now is leading by 43 votes with 96% of the vote counted.
I know I said I was going to bed, but instead I’m listening to Phil Ochs.
Here is a land full of power and glory
Beauty that words cannot recall
Her power shall rest on the strength of her freedom
Her glory shall rest on us all
NBC is calling:
Nicole Cannizzaro (D) for Nevada attorney general
Sandra Jauregui (D) for Nevada lieutenant governor
Francisco Aguilar (D) for re-election as Nevada secretary of state
In AK, Peltola is down about 1700 votes with 69% counted. I understand most of the remaining ballots are from early and mail-in voting. In most places, those skew D, so she still has a chance. Probably won’t be counted until Wed at the earliest.
How do the early results out of Alaska deal with the ranked choice?
Unbelievable! Totally awesome! Celebrating late with cold fried chicken and vodka. [bleep], where’s the vodka-- oh, never mind. Freezer.
I can’t believe this was such a blue tsunami that no one can even call “fraud” on.
They don’t. Nothing beyond the first preferences will be tabulated for 15 days.
They won’t do ranked choice until all the votes are in. In Alaska mail-in ballots will be counted if they arrive within 15 days, provided they were postmarked by Election Day. So if no one gets over 50% on the first choice, it’ll be a while before the result is known for sure.
Well, wasn’t that fun?
10/10 would defeat fascism again.
AP has now called Aaron Ford (D) for Governor of Nevada.
They’ve also called three of the four NV House seats for Dems and a Dem is leading in the fourth district.
The Kansas governor’s race remains too close to call.
With about 24,000 votes yet to be counted, Democrat Cindy Holscher leads Republican Ty Masterson by 5,547 votes.
Sadly, all 3 Kansas GOP House incumbents retained their seat, although our lone Democrat in the House, Sharice Davids, also won re-election.
GOP Attorney General Kris Kobach is trailing by a full percentage point with 98.5% of the ballots counted. That would be a huge swing for the Democratic party in Kansas.
Unsurprisingly, the ‘Must be a citizen to vote’ amendment passed easily. It really adds nothing to the state constitution, so it’s rather inconsequential, IMO.
BUT, GAWDAMMIT, WE KANSANS ELECTED A DEMOCRAT TO THE SENATE FOR THE FIRST TIME IN DAMN NEAR A CENTURY!!!
I’m probably not the first person to mention this, but it’s very funny that the refrain for so much of 2025 was “Guess what, there aren’t going to be any midterm elections”
At this point elections are no-brainers for me. I’d rather have the worst Democrat than the best Repugnican. (Assuming “worst” D doesn’t imply turncoats like Fetterman or Sinema.)
Good Riddance!
Joe Manchin, among others, sings praises for Collins, and one bullet on her resume is Voted against the Big Beautiful Graft. (It was Lisa Minkowski who came up with the 50th vote that finally passed that.)
Do not believe it! I looked into this and the Big Beautiful Graft required about 4 or 5 roll-call votes, most of them decided via 50-50 ties with Jeffrey Dahmer Vance breaking the tie. Lisa M. and Suzie C. alternated providing the 50th vote.
I just saw this while perusing election results. I have no idea of what significance, if any, this has.
With Xiong’s victory, he is now the first Hmong American elected to a statewide office in the nation.
A whole lot of firsts in this election.
CNN called last night a meteor. That sounds about right.
How did Canada manage this much election interference? ![]()
Who knew that the public execution was going to be MAGA’s?
