USA is a shitty country, stop bombing everyone

well, yes, that was my point. How do you end an asymmetrical conflict? No one to negotiate with. tit for tat for tit for tat for tit…

From orbit?

Sure, now. Because we bombed all the other terrorists.

Be nice to the Kiwi guys. He’s having a rough time. His favorite ewe broke up with him and has moved in with the ram just down the road.

It’s not so much a place as a series of domestic programs designed by FDR to combat apathy… right?

Wow, what a petulant, ignorant little shithead. As if being insulting and clueless on how to communicate with others wasn’t bad enough (hey, that’s me in a nutshell, I can handle that), he throws on a dollop of “Hurr durr this window is delicious” in the second post (bolded by me). Anyone wanna start a pool on how long he sticks around? I give it a week. Hey, pro tip sparky: when calling someone else “dumb”, you really should make sure you’ve got your “to/two/too” down. And, you know, not have three unrelated spelling/grammar errors in the same sentence fragment.

We’ve already killed far more people than that. It has nothing to do with “balance”; it has to do with America being fanatically Christian & racist, and enjoying the indiscriminate killing of Muslims and brown people. And back when there were more of them available “godless” communists. We demonstrably do not care if someone attacks us or not or tries to cooperate with us; the Iraqis tried that and were slaughtered.

This is a religious war, Christians and Muslims killing one another simply because they are Christians and Muslims. The Christians are just less honest about it; they like to make these smirking speeches about how they want to bring freedom and democracy just before they “free” people by killing them.

No it isn’t, it encourages it by creating more and more murderously angry enemies.

Kiwi national anthem: I’ll Never Find Another Ewe.

Silly, we don’t bomb everyone, just people we don’t like. And a few we do like but got in the way. Sorry about them.

OK, so that’s quite a lot of people, but still.

I can think of two better ways, off the top of my head.

Firstly, boots on the ground will always be more effective as drones, but that method is unpalatable to the American electorate. A full-on all-out WW2-like effort to clear out the Islamists and the governments that support them would effectively end the threat. That, of course, is politically untennable.

Secondly, the only reason we care about ME politics is because of oil. The only technology we have now that could replace ME oil is nuclear, and that position is politically untennable. The president spoke of “North American energy independance” during the campaign, and American Oil production has ramped up in recent years, and US imports of crude oil are now below 1998 levels. We need to continue moving in that direction, but the majority of the US electorate does not want electric cars.

So basically, all of the alternatives would be political suicide, and we get what the American electorate wants: a low level, endless guerilla war.

Only if by “WW2-like effort” you mean a much larger scale version of the Holocaust. If you want to destroy a major religion by killing, that’s the kind of killing you need to do.

All his posts are in his own threads and one zombie thread he resurrected (it was about New Zealand, shocker).

Banned by Christmas.

I’d like to recommend a book to the OP. It’s free and downloadable, here. Then when visiting a new place perhaps he can avoid making so many enemies.

“Hi, my name is Ben-wynyard, and every last one of you are arseholes and wankers. Now, who’s going to buy me a drink?”

Ben-wynyard, what is your address. We’d like to send you a [del]drone[/del] er, “Chrstmas package”.

I’m assuming the OP has never visited the US and only knows of it from news stories half way around the world.

Visit someday. You might be surprised how foreign policy seems to differ from every day life. You’d be hard-pressed to find a more generous and friendly culture.

Actually he brings up a valid point: “can radical Islam coexist with Western secularism”?
Maybe what is needed is a complete isolation of the adherents of “radical” Islam. As we learned from the case of Syria, the radicals are not content to live with others (who do not share their vision)-witness the departure of moderates from the Syrian civil war. Is Assad right? Time will tell.

Well, it is the only way to be sure.

I’m sorry but that made me laugh out loud. Thanks for starting my week off right.

We usually only yip when we unleash the dogs of war. As far as I know, we haven’t bombed New Zealand, but maybe you guys are so small you don’t count in the ‘bombing everyone’ category. Perhaps we’ll get to you next decade, though, since you are pretty far down the list.

(Out of curiosity, what sparked this little rant? Have we bombed someone lately that has finally made it into the news in Kiwi town??)
