Anyone know of a used CD’s place in the big city? I used to go to a place up around Little Neck way the heck out in Queens; the guy would pay a little for your own used CDs if he was interested in them, and for a bit more than that you could buy the ones he had in stock.
A block north of the Admissions building of NYU undergrad(essentially one block north of Wasington Square, on the East side) there is a store that buys and sells used (and New) cd’s, vinyls, and tapes. It also has a live D.J. spinning records. I go there every Friday after work(but for some reason I can’t remember the name!..it has a black sign out front, with white lettering)…very good selection, if you like hip-hop/rap/jazz/r&b, though I’m pretty sure it has most other types of music as well.
going further out, therte is a store in Hicksville on Old Country Rd.
Also I thingk there is one on 6th or 7th ave between 36 and 46th.
I dont buy much music (or steal any) so I only went their w/ a friend who frequents such places - but havn’t seen him for over 2 yrs
but I use to go to Second Hand Rose in the Village. Best to call first in case they’ve moved or gone out of business.
Academy Records on 18th between 5th & 6th Avenues–
specialize in classical, but have a good used dept.
Footlight Records on 12th between 4th & 5th Avenues–
THE place in this country for cast recordings, with used CDS in every catagory. My second home.
Tower Records has a annex at West 4th & 5th Avenue. Not used, but some good cheap leftovers.
