"V" renewed

No, at least in the original miniseries they explained that they picked human names because we’d never be able to pronounce their real names.

That’s reasonable, but, first, I would have loved to see the resistance adress this in an argument. If their own V had told them that Anna would indeed switch tactics that way and was quite capable of laying waste to earth while still getting what she wants, well, than the behaviour of the res would be in the vicinity of prudent policy.

Though then they should document and gather evidence as much as they can, because sooner or later far more people with special knowledge would have to go through the information to look for the opportunity for the “crippling blow” you speak of.

Second, as far as ep. 6, there was no sufficient reason to believe Anna could achieve by force what she now tries to gain by manipulation. Actually, there was no information about her end game at all. The V-res should have provided their human allies by now with more information, so I guess, you already know what they want.

And now I am curious … what do they want?

Yeah, that’s me, too. If I didn’t have a DVR, I’d probably never watch it. It’s mildly entertaining.

I wonder why don’t the resistance folks just sit down with Ryan and ask “So, why are you guys here, anyway?”

“It’s complicated”

Anyways, how could you NOT assume that Anna can get what she wants militarily. She could fly a couple ships into the Earth at a high speed a recreate what is known as an “Extinction level event”.

They still haven’t? :smack: That’s just weak writing. No V beneath the top tier might know exactly, what it is all about, but Ryan should have a general idea given his job in intelligence gathering and his affiliation with the V-res.

For starters, one prerequisite of her goal might be something that simply does not exist any longer once she starts to go on a rampage.

I think, it’s quite reasonable to assume that extinction isn’t one of the desired objectives or, as you have already stated, they could achieve that quite easily – and that even without sacrificing a ship or two: asteroids work just fine in that respect. If they wanted to get rid of us or earth’s biodiversity, they could have done so at day one.

If I understand Jet Jaguar correctly, the res continues to care so little about the V’s agenda that they didn’t even ask any pertinent questions, so the only information we, or rather you, have, is the Vs’ tactics; and since they seem to act logically, they will have chosen the ones that will help them achieve what they want.

And that’s why I think it’s a logical conclusion to refuse their “rules of engagement” and do the opposite – but avoid violence as much as possible to not start an open, escalating “shooting war”. Because that would indeed be fatal.

Technically, the Vs haven’t really “done anything” other than make sinister inuendo and hunt people who have been conspiring to commit violence against them.

Problem is that **Merijeek **is right. It’s just not that good of a show. I don’t really care about any of the characters and the the alien’s scheme is just uninteresting and convoluted. Mostly it just seems like a jobs program for sci-fi actors from defunct series (Elizabeth Mitchell from Lost, Joel Gretsch from 4400, Morena Baccarin from Firefly, Alan Tudyk from Firefly, Rekha Sharma from Battlestar Galactica, Michael Trucco from BSG and Nicholas Lea from X-Files so far. I’m sure there will be more cameos from other cast-offs from BSG, Firefly, and whatever Farscape cast members couldn’t find roles on one of the various Stargate spinoffs.)
