I watched the first round of episodes and was tepid on them. I was going to give the new round of episodes a try but that fucking V bug during Lost might lead me to just delete the epis off my DVR and bail purely out of spite.
Well no one ever said sex with the queen wasn’t risky. So at least we know these Visitors seem to have the same dietary preferences as the originals (though I don’t recall the originals indulging in cannibalism). This was okay. The pacing seems really slow, but that’s what happens went you opt for a 5 yr series instead of a miniseries.
Yeah, I thought they went for hamsters and stuff. No V has been seen eating a rodent. However, human Val craved that dead one due to the V baby (and I have to drink a lot of gatorade to swallow THAT pregnancy).
I’m along for the ride, I love Mitchell and Baccarin and the priest and Ryan and George and hot mercenary. I think she found his address by looking in the super sekrit files her lizard partner had left behind.
That wasn’t on the full FBI system that was on Blondie FBI agent’s former partner’s system. One of his jobs, I guess, was to supply the Visitors with insurgents who would be qualified to train a rebellion against the V and keep it from the FBI. That way they would know who to watch out for when they arrived. They tried to neutralize him by giving him to the FBI, therefore replacing themselves as the bad guy.
I enjoyed the episode. Anna is really good in this show. I know the actress from Firefly. It is pretty cool to see her play a very very different character so well. She is still hot, but somehow I really do see her as a lizard. Even in scenes where she isn’t chewing down on her mate.
As an aside I love the idea of sticking a poll atop episode discussion threads. I find it interesting to see what people thought, especially compared to the discussion. Sometimes the antis are more vocal, and sometimes the pros. It’s nice to see what people who aren’t up for discussing it as much think.
I watched the first four episodes, and thought it was OK. If it had continued, i might have stuck with it, at least for a while.
But showing four episodes and then taking a break of almost five months is bullshit, and i’m not going to reward that sort of shit from the networks. i guess i’ll never find out if it was worth watching the rest.
Soooo… my girlfriend had fallen asleep on the couch and as they went to the last commercial break right before the top of the hour (Hobbs had agreed to join the fight) I assumed they’d just be returning with “Next week on V…” scenes so off to bed I went.
Did I miss Anna going all Praying Mantis in the last segment?!? Fill me in, what happened??? (And um… you know… was she nekkid??)
And it was just about the least sexy thing imaginable, which I believe was the intent. It was actually well done, but the whole black widow aspect was unnecessary, IMHO. Have some more sushi, you bitch.
I still can’t believe that no one (on the show) has even suggested that anyone else might be the babydaddy.
Yes.
They brought her some studzards to start an army with. She sniffed them. One smelled taller than the others and she took him to her [del]shuttle[/del] chamber of secrets, laid him back on the floor, slipped out of her bathrobe, taught him the true meaning of a quickie, pronounced that her army could now begin, then noted that she needed nourishment.
Then came some completely unnecessary CGI fangs and a horror-movie style jump at the camera. It wasn’t subtle.
Morena looks so haggard in this role, I sometimes can’t believe she’s the same radiant beauty from Firefly.
Also, am I the only one who saw Nicholas Lea’s name in the opening credits? Where was he? I’m going to go back tonight and re-watch that, because I could swear I’m not imagining it.
In addition to it not being the FBI system, they went to great pains to exposit to us viewers that the FBI had nothing on the guy, so prior to the bogus fingerprint even if he walked in the front door and surrendered himself they’d have to let him go.
They are obviously taking advantage of every opportunity to make use of any chance they can to put the V design into things: those forks (which to me looked like a “forked tongue”) and the way Marcus held his hands were the most obvious uses in last night’s episode to me.
Anna doesn’t do much for me, and the pale, greenish white skin make-up is creepy, not alluring. However, they did add Lexa Doig to the cast, so I’m hoping she gets down to some skin tight outfits soon - no more lab coats.
They should have gotten Michael Ironsides for the mercenary, but then he wouldn’t be “hot mercenary” The mouse thing was a nice homage to the hamster eating scene from the original, though Morris Chestnut’s ladyfriend’s only role is being pregnant. And I thought evolution for survival of the species took generations - here, the first V/human hook-up and we have a superfast pregnancy. Maybe Chestnut just gave the story about not being able to impregnate his lady because he wanted to play bareback. Good thing that the masked Vs equipment is in the same place ours is.
A couple of extended bits of redubbed dialogue early in this episode. Not really sure why they might have had to do that.
It stuck me as a little false that the FBI guys accepted the V’s magic explosion playback software (with bonus fingerprint detection/analysis feature, for free!) without some much as a second thought, except for our heroine, naturally. But then again, that demo I saw of the new Photoshop looked just about as magical.
Yeah, that writing was sloppy, but this is network TV. Compared to governments around the world not objecting to having giant spaceships parked over their capitals & major cities it seems pretty minor.
