Vacuum beard trimmer actually works

I bought a beard trimmer that has a built-in vacuum on it so all your hairs go into the vacuum and not the sink.

I bought this on a whim convinced it wasn’t going to work. I figured I could always just send it back.

But it actually works and now I’m mad I didn’t buy one of these sooner. So nice having a bathroom sink with no hairs on it.

I beard trim in the shower. Same result. Then I take my shower and can thoroughly rinse any loose hairs out of the beard & off the rest of me.

But I’m curious what specific trimmer you bought that you’re happy with. I could see a use for that kind of gizmo.

I went with Google’s suggestion and bought the Remington vacuum beard trimmer.

It got the highest reviews so I went with that one.

What ever happened to the one you could cut your hair with? Was the name FlowBee?

That sounds like a great idea, but I will never give up my beloved Philips MG7790 beard trimmer.

It’s just one of those products that for some inexplicable reason was made with way more quality than one would reasonably expect in this age of crappy products. If I let my facial hair grow, as I often do, it used to be a real challenge to attack it with my old beard trimmer. This one cuts through a beard like the metaphorical hot knife through butter, with attachments for any beard length including a clean shave. It will run on plug-in power if the battery is down, but JFC, I’ve had this thing several years and I’ve only had to charge it once, when I first got it!

This is the very paragon of a quality product. True, in deference to the OP’s vacuum device, I have to line the bathroom sink with a paper towel when trimming a thick beard, but you cannot beat the performance of this thing. I typically use the trimmer attachment that leaves me with a visible stubble, so that I might be mistaken for a fashionable and sexy movie star. So far as I know, no one has ever mistaken me for such. Somehow with me, it always looks less like “fashionable movie star” and more like “guy who needs a shave”. But still, I persist.

I have the MG7750 and am equally pleased with it. I’ve had it for a little over 4 years, and have had the same experience: it’s solid as a rock and I think I’ve charged it just once in those four years. I lay an open magazine in the sink when I use it, which catches almost all the hair, and is easy to dump in a trash can when I’m done.

Same here. I’ve had my MG9525 for years, love it. Much better product than the price would’ve suggested.

My previous trimmer/shaver was also terrific for years until it got lost (long story); it was an earlier version of the same product, possibly the one you guys still use.

I have a Flowbee and have been cutting my hair with it for probably over 15 years. My wife finally decided to let me cut her hair with it during the pandemic, and it’s saved us literally hundreds of dollars. It takes less than five minutes for me to cut my own hair, and between five and ten minutes to cut her hair. I would buy it again in a heartbeat.

We have a Remington vacuum hair clipper that is awesome.
