Heh. That reminds me of a V-day with the ex. He knew I would’ve wanted a card and dinner (it wasn’t our first V day together) and we had actually planned what resturant we were going to. Got home from work to a cranky S.O. No card, didn’t want to go to dinner. The no card thing I could’ve gotten over, except he had stopped at the store and got his daughter a card. It’s great that he got his daughter a card and everything, but all I could think of was omg, he was actually AT the card store and STILL couldn’t spend 2 minutes picking out a card for me. Needless to say there was a pretty decent knock down, drag out. He stormed out of the house and came home an hour later with a diamond necklace. Sorry to say it was way too late, diamonds or no. Hell, I didn’t even want jewelry, I just wanted a smidgen of thoughtfulness, something I hadn’t gotten in quite awhile. Couldn’t saved a lot of money if he would’ve shelled out 2 bucks for a damn card.
The new S.O. did much better. Card and flowers. Didn’t have to say a thing to him. I love my S.O.
