Valley of the Old Business Cards

Was just cleaning out my bureau drawers and found a cache of old business cards I can’t bear to toss . . .

Old boyfriends (Daniel in Zurich; John and Richard and Len in Baltimore; Kenneth in NJ; Geoff in Barbados) . . .

Long-gone businesses and nightclubs (Waves “antiques and early radios” on East 13th Street; Speakeasy Antiques on lower B’way; Faces, a terrific make-up store on 6th Avenue; James Carr, a used bookstore in an old barn on East 81st; an invite to one of Jerry and Mimi Rubin’s Networking Parties at Palladium) . . .

You guys have similar old cards?

I have a gang of them that have gone from one wallet to another for about ten years now. Most of them are from my “Galway every weekend” period and include the card of a cutie who was with street theater group Macnas, another belonging to a girl who made really nice jewlery that I kept meaning to buy. I also have a load of fliers for clubs, mixed in with them 'cos folded in four they are the same size as a business card, and membership cards for the sort of clubs that open, run 3 weekends and then dissapear off the face of the earth.

Anyone know a jewler called Sinead in Galway?

Nope, but I have boxes of my own cards that no longer have my correct title, but it seems such a waste to throw them away…
