Vampire Menstruation.

Do (female) vampires menstruate? I say yes, that if they’re immortal they’ll menstruate but since humans have a limited amount of eggs, so would vampires and they’d stop when they menstruated their last one. What do y’all think?

(and this is my oddest post ever and thought it probably belongs here).

I think vampires are probably fictional.

Well… I don’t believe in immortality… but I figure if you’re female, vampire or not, you’re going to have a period every month until you reach menopause…

I don’t know the answer to the OP. What I do know is that, the proof or denial of vampiric menstruation will have a great impact on the vampire lesbian and bisexual community.

Oh, and by the way. I can’t say I believe in vampires either. The idea for the question came to while watching the bad, bad, bad movie “Queen of the Damned”. I just thought this would be a fun/odd question to pose.

For what it’s worth, Angel and Darla had a kid, on the show “Angel,” but that’s probably fictional, too.

No, Menstruation is something that living beings do. It is a bodily function, and like all other bodily functions, stops when the body dies.

Vampires also do not go to the bathroom or procreate.
This is the general consessus of all the Vampire novels I have read.
::Scurries off to dig up a cite::

Then I would suspect female vampires would be rather rare… The female vampire would have to feed more often during that time as the blood has to come from somewhere and all blood in a vampires body comes solely from that gained by feeding.

This would raise discovery at that time exponentially and hunters would find you easier to kill you. This could also cause problems if you aren’t feeding enough…

The only possibility I could think of that a period would be possible is in WW and you are 14/15 gen because those ones can still have children.

Right, what torie said. Vampires are animated, thinking dead tissue given “life” by magical means. Natural body processes have ceased.

The only thing I can think of that gives me pause is Anne Rice’s Lestat character, whom (I think) stated that all of his bodily fluids were comprised of blood. His tears were blood, and when he ejaculated during sex it was blood that came out, not the expected white wigglies.

Yeah, I can’t think of a reason why an undead being would have biological life functions, which ovulating (the whole reason for menstruation in the first place) is.

But hey, what do I know? I’m alive.

Vampire Menopause would be a great band name.

Maggots?

::Runs off to tell teacher::

Just a random thought, but damn, if I got the chance to be immortal, but were told it meant I’d have to deal with PMS for eternity… I might strongly consider passing.

Sorry, but its stated in ALL the Vampire Chronicles books that I read that Vamps don’t and can’t have sex/ejaculate.

I am tempted to repeat the limerick about the young vampire called Mabel, but it’s completely tasteless, so I won’t.

Steve, could you at least link to it? I’ve never heard it & can’t even imagine it (beyond of course- “There was a young vampire called Mabel…”).

Warning: rude limericks. Third one down.

Excellent.

Augh my eyes! My eyes!
Well, it’s my own damn fault. I was warned.
