Either place would be good for me. Afghan food is generally pretty hot, so if anybody has a sensitive mouth maybe Mongolie is better. Somebody decide before I have to!
(Damn, I have a lot of books to get rid of! All subjects! Help me out here!)

There is a cut rate for vegetarians at the Mongolie Grill… at the one in Richmond, it’s 20% off. I believe that if you guess the exact price of your meal at the scales, you get a $15 gift certificate good for the next time. In Richmond, there’s a bunch of photos near the door headed “Hall of Fame.” How someone can eat $41 worth of food there is beyond me… but it’s all good.
I’d help rjk out on the books, but I have a lot of stuff myself. Good luck with it, though!
Shall we tentatively say it’s at the Mongolie Grill, then? Do they take reservations? Is it busy Saturday evenings?
(Don’t we all need more books anyway? SF, fantasy, Cafe Society stuff, gardening, cookbooks, classics, … Am I really pushing this? :rolleyes: )
Doesn’t matter to me, as I think anywhere would be fine.
As for more books, sure… you got any weird bizarre ones in your collection?
I’m sure many people would consider my tastes weird.
Just to skim the non-fiction: Biographies of Rod Serling (The Twilight Zone), Doc Holliday (gunfighter), and Willie Mosconi (pool shark). How to Make a Monster (makeup for the movies). Something called Spaceship Conspiracy by a Lower Mainland crank (space propulsion and how nobody believes him). Some on language and odd words.
Fiction is mostly SF/fantasy, mysteries, and naval adventure (hearts of oak and all that). Yes, I have a spare copy of Master and Commander, and of The Far Side of the World (the one the movie is mostly based on).
If anybody wants to drop by, mail me at the address in my profile.
So shall we say Mongolie Grill next Saturday at 6:00 pm? I’ll call Monday for reservations unless anybody pops up and insists on their own favourite place.

Thanks for the tip-off! I’ve been working nasty hours and ignoring my 'puter at home because it looks too much like work.
March 20, you say. At the Mongoli Grill, in Vancouver at Robson and Davie, or have they moved since I was last there, oh, four years ago?
And I am glad for your move, if not for the attendant stress.
We’ve been talking about the one on Broadway. Hope you can make it!
(And in case you didn’t notice, I’ve got books for sale!)
Language and odd words? Wow… I’d be SO there!
Unfortunately, Burnaby is not exactly convenient for me… but we shall see.
That sounds fine to me… guess we’ll see what happens.
Ok by me.
I won’t make the book sale though, or I’ll be too broke for dinner!
Woohoo, less than a week!
Anyone catch up to Scotticher yet?
Saturday at 6:00 at the Mongolie Grill sounds good to me. I just spent this weekend moving, so trust me when I say that more books is the last thing I need.
See you there!
I mailed Scotticher, and unfortunately she can’t make it; her grand-niece won’t change her birthday. She sends hugs to all.
(Still sorting out books!)
The reservation is in for this Saturday, 6:00 pm. The name, of course, is Cecil Adams.
(The person who shows up for the book sale and offers me a ride to the restaurant gets a FREE BOOK!
)
I can be there for sure(or almost completely sure. I didn’t plan to come down with the flu last time).
When/where is the book sale?
Okay, fall in, hut hut hut!
Sound off for roll call!
(Oops, I think my Cadet Mom days have caught up to me!
)

That it? I miss anyone? We all in?
Anyone else out there…(silence)
Okay, see ya all Saturday!
I’m all ready for it!
(Last chance to mail me and attend the book sale!)
Hmmm… I guess I can swing two parties at once! My brother seems to be able to do it all the time, at least. I’ll see what happens tonight when I talk to my friends.
Sure you can, Flam! Book sale in the afternoon, dinner at 6, party at 8 or 9, no problem.
Book sale in the afternoon? That’s if I’m willing to go out to Boon-aby for it!
(joke name that my sister and her friends made up years ago)
I’ll have to find out what time the surprise party is from my friend Sean tonight, then… he brought it up last week as something to do for his girlfriend’s birthday. At least I know someone else in the same boat as I am… having another pre-existing party on the same date for friends going away forever!
Will probably keep you posted.
F_X
Update: Sean says there is no party because he’s too busy. Boo!
But on the upside, that means I get to have dinner with you lovely folk.
See you tonight!
Whoohoo!
Oops, I mean sorry to hear that.
(woohoo!
)
So, does anyone know the busses from Main Station? I hate the Transit site - I can never get it to actually show me the map! Hey rjk, what time will you be at Edmonds? I figure on heading out of the house about 4:00, but I’ve got to swing by the zoo and walk the d— umm, I mean the Head of Security!
He’s even got his profile on the website. Something seems to have eaten the pictures though. The site is in the process of being redone.

See if you can figure out who I am. (Not Flam or rjk, you two know!)
