VEGAS FEST! Maybe?

Consider me (and gooti) as interested and tentative. Went a couple years ago and had a fuckin blast.

Just a suggestion: Since we’re talking October/November, how about the weekend before Halloween (Oct. 26, 27)? I was going to suggest Halloween itself, but that’s on a Thursday this year, and it might be hard for some folks to swing a weekday. (Besides, I like to go trick-or-treating with my son.) But the weekend before, there’d still probably be lots of costumed weirdness going on.

Thoughts?

Hey Ringo! For you, pants are optional!

Ferrous.

I am pretty open as to when. Maybe it would be a good idea to check the best time for airfares, especially for those coming further away.

Yeah, I’m open too. As I said, just a suggestion.

Just for reference, I did some checking on airfares from Portland to LV for various times in Oct. and Nov. They all were right around $200. (Alaska Airlines)

Mr. Pol and I will be in LV next week – 5/12 - 5/16 – & (at least I) would be interested in a possible meet & greet…

Maybe we could take in the 9:30 am digitally projected showing of Attack of the Clones at the Century Orleans?
We already have tickets … boy I love the Internet!

I think I am going to scratch planning the hiking/biking/camping Southern Utah thing for another time and just make this a Vegas trip.

VEGAS! VEGAS! VEGAS! VEGAS!

Today I was daydreaming about Vegas and my machine at work got all backed up and I was all like “DARN YOU DIANE! CURSE YOU FOR MAKING ME DAYDREAM LIKE THIS! FOR MONTHS!”

I’m excited. That is all. My sig seems appropriate.

Zette

Cyn and Drachillix will be in Las Vegas in July. Drach has never been and I love nickle slots and oh, yeah, we’re getting married.

Which doesn’t rule out a Viva Los Dopers Fest in the fall----one summer on a family trip to LV, we crossed the street and my sandles melted into the pavement and my father had to pull me onto the sidewalk. But I think LV invented air conditioning.

I can’t guarantee anything, but I’ll keep an eye on this and make it if I can.

Hey Diane, want to carpool? (he said with an evil grin)

Ugly

I love Vegas. Vegas, she loves me. I’m in. I really like Treasure Island due to the size of their beverages at the pool. A mimosa the size of my arm is a nice way to get up in the morning. They also are (at times) reasonably priced for families. Downside is there are some kids running around (kids in Las Vegas - strange move I always thought). I just get sunglasses and ignore them until I have to push and bully em off the “Star Wars” game so I can get my light saber duel on. They know better than to even touch my “Silent Scope” Machines when I’m around.

Blackjack. Says it all.

DaLovin’ Dj

Will somebody please put $10 straight up on 8 and 29 for me?

You’ll let me know if I win, right?

Have fun, folks, and enjoy your 99 cent shrimp cocktail.

I actually feel anxious about this fest. How am I going to know who is who there? I want to meet everyone! I apologize in advance for all the pics I’ll be taking of people and number of times I’ll ask your name. My first real fest.

Zette

My nuts make me easy to identify.

DaLovin’ Dj

I’ll bet its more like the people that are avoiding you.

If I knew I had the cash I would go but techchick is kinda broke as of late.

Anyhow, here’s the link of the Vegas Dopefest pictures of 2000

http://www.geocities.com/techchick68/vegas/

And the thread of the aftermath:

Vegas Dopefest 2000 Sept 1 - 4 Official thread

It may help to visualize it for many.

And BTW, I budgeted $1000 for the entire trip – air, food, drinks and gambling and came back with more than $250 because I spent more time with my Dope Friends than in the casino.

Oh and I was able to get cheap ass rates at the Imperial. $99 a night because I called them and asked about group rates. It’s a cheezy ass hotel but it’s one of the cheapest on the Strip. Since I was the one that put it together with the Imperial, they gave me my suite for the same price and it was a great gathering place, as you can tell from the pictures.

That’s not very nice. Gotta problem? See ya in the pit - that is the proper place for such sentiments. No problem? A smiley might have helped.

If you are serious, I have met many dopers I would consider to be friends. My IRL dope events have been nothing but fun experiences where I met intelligent & lively folks and we all had lots’o-fun.

Either way, don’t kid yourself. I pick up the party a notch every time.

DaLovin’ Dj

Never been to Vegas, but those are 3 great reasons to go… maybe…
DJ, just don’t break off any more of your nuts, or we won’t recognize you. That’s how we remember you, showing everyone your nuts all the time…

Wow, all this Vegas Dope talk has got me so excited, I actually can’t wait until next school year. Wierd.

Anyways, I’m so happy about all of this I want to volunteer to help however I can. I’ve already agreed to let people sleep on my floor, but I want to be more involved. I want in on the planning of this bad boy. Diane, if you’re interested and want a local to help you set things up, shoot me an e-mail.

I’ll call around and get us a hotel room so cheap we’re be able to afford double the whores (and man-whores). I’ll track down activities for the non-gambling. I’ll make nametags even more fabulous than Esprix’s. I’ll videotape and edit it and make the first Official Dopefest Home Video© for everyone. I’ll bump this thread every day to remind people just so we can have a big crowd.

Anyways, I’m psyched.

psy has been wanting to go gambling for ages now. She’s an old Atlantic City cronie and hasn’t been able to get her fix out here in The West yet. I hate gambling myself, but I’ve been wanting to catch a Blue Man Group show for quite a while and would love to hook up with Diane, Zette and all the other Dopers. count us tentatively in. The sooner the date is set, the more likely it is that we can lock in and make it.

I’ll be monitoring this thread.

PS: I think cyn nailed the name with “Viva Las Dopers”.
