My daddy lives in Vegas, and I have the week of Columbus Day off.
Columbus Day (10/14) gives most people a 3 day weekend, which would be great for people who are planning on traveling. Just a thought.

We haven’t booked our timeshare yet for this year so we could probably be there the same time as everyone else this time (I think we missed Techchick’s by about a week last time 
) Need a date nailed down soon though so we can book. Is there a listing somewhere of all the major conventions we’d want to avoid? We wouldn’t want to try and book during “comdex” or whatever.

As for me, count me in! I’ll probably end up staying at Mandalay Bay though since I’ll have to bring my hubby and kid. MB has fantastic pools to amuse the kids and enough hot babes around those pools to amuse hubby.
I’m there, too, if we time it right. I’ll be on a 7 on/7 off schedule, so there’s a 50% chance.
I have received a lot of suggestions for Columbus Day weekend (11-14), so unless something really horrible is happening in town during that time, that’s the date.
Now that we have a date, we can get a better idea of hotel and flight rates.

I am going to start a list so I can get a general idea of how many rooms we’ll need. You might also mention if you are rooming with someone or looking for a roommate.
I understand that it is still a long way off so we’ll just pencil the list for now.
I am going to look for hotels on the south and center sections of the Strip and try to get in the middle price range (which is still pretty good).
Too cheap could mean cockroaches and bloodstains on the carpet.
Zyada, I’m sure he’ll understand as long as you bring him back a Vegas birthday present. Fuzzy dice or maybe a mini slot machine piggy bank, maybe?
I’m staying at Treasure Island barring some crazy group rate you may be able to hook up. I’ve been to Vegas about 6 times, and I like their pool bar the best. (I spend alot of time by the pool drinking). I’ll plan on making my own arrangements. I am definately in though.

I am just posting that I saw the hotel signup and like the idea of a lot of us staying together. I have spoken to a non-board friend who may come. Still very early.
Zyada, my sister’s B-day is the 9th. I’m not letting that stop me.
Well…put me down as a “maybe” for the group hotel deal. As it stands now, I’ll probably be going solo, and I’ll probably get my own room. But I guess if there’s some really good group rates, I may have to go for it.
